Sounds like the two other dealers I dealt with. On the day of purchase I asked for the fluid level to be check. I was countered with "Oh come on man this thing is a Toyota!"

2nd dealer would only do the temp test. They refused to do the manual fluid check. They countered with "oh we don't want to add fluid to a brand new transmission it's sealed and shouldn't be messed with".

Yeah, too many 3rd Gen Tacos "have issues". The 3rd Gen fanboys think they own the content on TW. I was in the market for a 2016 Tacoma, but after a year and a half of reading about so many problems with it, I'm going into the dealer and ordering a 4Runnner. One member in particular was responsible for giving me a heads up on the Taco, and the reliability of the 4Runner. Like night and day.
I don't have the time and money to invest in a truck that will be in the shop more than on the road.

Don't let a few folks change your mind. A lot of people love their tacoma as I do. Yes I had a few minor issues but were fixed in a timely manner.

I got 4300 miles on my DCOR4x4. Had trans issue, tsb fixed it. Radio display reboots, parts on order. In the shop today for the second time for squeaky leafs. First time they replaced the front bushings, today they disassembled and greased leafs which was instructed from the regional tech. My services department is very good to me btw. I told the service manager that I will see him in a few days once the leafs start squeaking again and this will be number 3. Took truck to car wash after the dealer and saw my hood moving around. So, I checked and found I have the hood delam issue. I'll have them fix that once my head unit comes in. What really pisses me off is the leafs. This is a known issue that was never addressed from factory and '17 are rolling out with the same crap on them. Has anyone used the lemon law to give this piece of crap back to Toyota? My 09 and 11 4runners were never in the shop and where bulliet proof.

Yes I know of folks who have. The first thing lemon law lawyers will tell you is to stop posting online. Toyota does not make it easy and it can be at least a two to three month process even with an airtight case going in

Yeah I try to keep it vague. If more people bring there issues forward, maybe they will start correcting them. Wishful thinking I suppose.

I has squeaky leafs on a back in 96 on a Tacoma and they fixed them I believe with teflon spacers. Not like this is a new gen problem.

As for the transmission TSB, your truck has to demonstrate one of the three symptoms before most dealers will do it, it's not an automatic update just because you demanded it. My dealership also had no plugs in stock so I had them ordered and when received, I made the appt for install.

My truck had the R-D delay symptom most evident when cold so I dropped it off the night before so they could duplicate with a cold trans. I was able to get the TSB done because they duplicated the symptom, not because I demanded it.

As for the 11 hours keeping the truck, your appointment/drop off time doesn't mean they'll start working on your truck immediately at that time, it just gives you a place in line for all the other cars / trucks in for service and they will get to it as techs are available. Like it or not, that's how alot of places work. Also, to check the transmission level manually the trans has to be at a specific temp so the techs have to allow for it to cool then come up to temp for the check.

Was the transmission a quart low or did they just charge you for a quart? If it was just a little bit low like a few ounces or they topped off what dribbled out chances are you're getting charged for the full quart.

To be honest, it sounds like you're overreacting to the experience.
