I know CBI makes ditch light brackets. But has anyone made or seen anyone who has made some? I feel like there is a cheaper way to mount light pods up near the windshield wipers. Any DIY mounts?

Relentless make a great set. I have them and at like $25 a pop (give or take) that's way easier than trying to make them. They also bolt straight up and don't require anything more than a wrench an your lights.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I tried making some, but wasn't really happy with the end product. I ended up getting a set from Rago Fabrication. Heavy duty and good quality.

I was blown away at prices on brackets!
Lights can be bought at half the cost.
Seems like Everyone charges about $50 for a pair. I think Some sell unpainted $44?
Mostly style choice. I went with cbi, so I could buy my daughter a $50 tshirt and get free brackets.:gossip:

The windshield brackets are even more $$

Has anyone had any problem with police officers when using ditch light brackets? Just curious if they would say it was obstructing the view of the inspection sticker

@CaliRaisedLed can hook you up! They have great combo pricing on mounts if you buy their LEDs at the same time. Great way to save money off retail 365 days a year!

I got the relentless ones for my D2 spots. The entire install time from opening up UPS Boxes to having fully aligned lights with a nice factory finish push switch was about an hour, total.

They were $50 for the pair... and well worth it, in my super humble opinion.

what have you all done if anything to make the light pods harder to steal? One bolt on each seems too easy to crib.

Kinda hard to do. You'd have to use a security bolt of your choice where you have the bracket to the hood mount and bracket to the light. And that is if you can find a security bolt in the correct size, sometimes its not so easy for every single application. Even with a security bolt, since the nut would be easily accessible on the mount, it still wouldn't be a difficult job to steal the light. On top of that the light bracket itself is thinner metal so if the thief wants it bad enough they could just hack through it.

A bolt and some JB weld would be good if you don't plan on taking them off anytime soon. So the only actual good option is going to involve you gumming it up for the potential thief, and yourself.

Is there a good writeup anywhere on the actual wiring install process for these? Like how to run the wires, relay, switch install in cab, etc.?
