The Toytec Boss lift is good for its price range...

No clue. It's not the devils responsibility to evaluate the quality of a lift.

Kidding. I don't have personal experience but every review I have read on here rings with satisfaction.

I researched and saved for months, and when it came down to the final seconds I almost went that route. But I wanted UCA's and that on top of that kit was way over my budget.

Yeh if you add the uca's it's another $500 to put me at $1700+. Right now I don't plan on going that route. I only want to get 1.5" of lift in the front and 2" in the back. I'll take my dealers advice once installed. If it's to much of an angle on the cv's then I'll go the uca route. If everything lines up and is in spec then I won't.

As long as you're under 3" you should be fine. Had I known I would have a hard time getting 285's underneath her I would've done a Fox or BOSS kit and just stayed at the 2.5" range. Then I wouldn't have needed UCA's. I don't regret the choice though. My truck looks rad to me and that's all that matters.

Sure. Here's two. This is the one I took at the tire shop after downsizing tire. About 1/2 an inch of the 285 stuck out far enough to rub. The second picture makes the tires looks tiny but there wasn't a huge difference. I'll get a better picture from the side today.

I went with the headstrong Bilstein kit with 887's set at .85 and the headstrong 3 leaf progressive add a leaf and retained the overload leaf. The ride only got a little firmer than it was before mainly in the rear from the leafs.

The front is a little higher but I believe it'll settle leveledimage.jpgimage.jpg

I just really want to run the 285/70/17 Toyo M/T's and I don't need a 6in lift... Guess, I have to spend a little more than I wanted on the lift and go higher and with UCAs.

It also depends on your wheels. Offset and width make a huge difference. Some people rub on 285's and some people don't...

I think the Method Mesh 8.5 width are the wheels I'm looking at. Not a huge fan of the TRD Pro wheels that everyone has.

I feel you that's why I went with SCS wheels. They are hard to get since they always sell out and you can't go to any wheel shop to get them...

Like @Synergy001 it has to do with offsets as well. Unfortunately the people who have the TRD rims are able to run 285s. My belief is that it has to do with how narrow they are and that they have a positive offset. I tried all the offsets in the rims I chose (none of them positive) and they didn't work. So this leads me to believe that even spacers wouldn't remedy the rub.

I'm at 3" up front using bolt on spacers, 2.5" out back using blocks, stock everything else including control arms. 285/75/16 on stock 16x7 wheels with a 1.25" Spidertrax spacer. No rubbing at all.

I'm not really sure what the offset is on SR's but I'd assume it's in the 25 maybe. Like the OR? I'd like to know the math on what those spacers make your wheel offset.

Edit: if I did the math right you should be at a +6 offset. Which is close to the TRD Pro rims. So you might need a slightly positive offset to rid the rub.
