Thanks bro! I appreciate it. Naw man, no worries. The way you're doing it is awesome and totally works. I just wanted to try to give it a go from scratch. Thought hard about Military trailer at first though haha. Yours is gonna be sick man! Did you get your axle from southwestwheel.com?

Haha yeah that's where I got mine too. I could tell looking at the stickers on yours in the picture it looked exactly like mine. Yeah dude they're great, mine came super quick as well.

Nice, I should have everything I need now, I'm still trying to decide whether or not I'm going to get new leafs or not. I'm going to be running 33s so idk if I'm going SOA or SUA yet either. Other then that though I have everything I need to start rebuilding everything back together. I have been leaning more towards getting everything sandblasted and professionally painted while its all apart though but we'll see

I used 4" lift springs for a Jeep YJ cuz they're longer than trailer springs and thought they'd give me good ride quality and weight capacity combo. They're pretty cheap too.

Any reason for not running the same size tire as your truck? I went with 35's and the same lug pattern as my truck so that I would have 2 extra spares for me truck if need be. I'd be totally fine leaving my trailer somewhere and going back for it rather than getting stuck.

What would be the benefits of going spring under on the trailer?

I have thought about getting mine painted up nicely too but it's not cheap haha so I'll probably just spray paint the whole thing haha!

For the springs, I wouldn't mind getting new ones but I'd want to use the same hangers, so the leafs would have to be the same length. Honestly I'm sure id be able to find replacements I really just havent looked. As far as tires, I will be going with 35s eventually, but The 33s I got for free so I wasn't gonna turn them down. If I do wind up going to 35s one day then I will have to go SOA just to make them fit but with 33s I have the option to go both (I'm pretty sure). But it will all come down having the trailer sit level. Even with the stock tires on the trailer wasn't too far from being level. I do have an adjustable pintle hitch which gives me like 3 different options on height so we'll see what happens. SOA, I would need to get new leafs, SUA, I think I can reuse these ones for a little while. And if mine was able metal I would no doubt just paint it myself, but having some surface rust spots that are hard to get to make me wanna sandblast it. And if I sandblast it, I wanna paint it haha

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
Good looking build so far. Can't wait to see the end result.

My thoughts on spring over/under are that spring under and a u bolt flip will allow the trailer to slide over a rock more easily than spring over, where if the leaf spring is sliding up an obstacle, you can still get hung up on the axle.

But to get the right ride height with a spring under, Idk if you can use the stock hangers or if there are leaf springs available with enough arch.

I feel like spring over is the easier option.

But these are just my thoughts. I have no experience with trailer suspension.

Thanks, just got back from a 2 week vacation so hopefully more updates will be coming

Yeah man i see what you're saying but like i said, the trailer sat pretty well with the stock tires so i honestly don't know how it'll sit with the 33s.. I'll probably try both options out and see what I like, and worse comes to worse, I'll just change it up. Luckily changing from SUA to SOA and vise versa isnt that big of a job.. especially when the trailer is flipped upside down.

Unfortunately not, I really need to get that crossed off though lol.. I had plans to finish it after I bought some better drill bits to drill out the rivets but then I bought the trailer, and have been on vacation for the past 2 weeks so it's kinda been sitting on my work bench

After a long debate with myself I decided to go ahead and replace the leaf springs.. the bushings were shot, most of the bolts were seized, and I just feel better knowing they will be new. Taking them off however SUCKED.. it took a lot od WD40, a torch, some powe drills, and a big ass hammer but I managed to get them all off.. the new leafs and bushings should be here soon
