Ok maybe someone can explain this to me. Check out the TRDOR both are 2017 models. The top slide is showing a listing in Texas zip 75208, check out the Price/MPG compared to the lower slide W. Virginia 25177.
Why is it the truck has a better MPG rating?

4x4 vs 4x2 would be my guesstimate, based on the price difference

I know there was talk of a new gear set in the '17 rear ends that could account for the difference but damn.

There is no difference in gear sets. It is most likely 4x4 manual transmission that is giving the lower MPG.

Top one is 2WD auto. Lower one is 4WD manual.

This is your answer. 17/20 is what the TRD OR DCSB Manuals get because of the gearing. That's what I have in mine. I average 18.5 to 19.5 with mixed city and highway driving. A 3 or 4 mpg drop compared to the automatic is not an easy pill to swallow but it's nice having more usable power and it's a lot more entertaining to drive in my opinion. Worth it for some people like me, but not for everyone.

Possible just thought it was weird that you can open one page and you see one thing and just change the zip code and get something totally different. Its a website they should be starting from the same default start point.

The way the Toyota website works is it shows you vehicles that are being built or already available close to your zip code. You aren't actually "custom building" anything. More like "filtering" through vehicles near you. That is why you will see options/colors/trims disappear/reappear as you change zip codes.

Agreed I've got a gen2 6speed now. Just the knee isn't liking it anymore. Don't really want to go with the AT but the added bonuses are there versus the MT. Always went MT less shit to go wrong.

You would think so, but that's not how Toyota works. With their website, you're not custom ordering a truck. You're looking through regional inventory. If you change your location, you'll get into different pools of available vehicles.

Edit: Aero beat me too it. That's what I get for being long-winded.
