...^^^... Good point ... The problem is many here are using different starting points, me included.

When the regional distributor and/or the dealer do the add on MSRP stickers that look OEM, it can be difficult. My truck had $1,000.00 worth of useless or overpriced stuff like ... $450.00 =3M wrap ..... $100.00 = door edge guards ..... $275.00 = front window tint ..... $100.00 = nitrogen filled tires mats = $175.00 .... all this maybe cost the regional distributor maybe $200.00.

So if i figure all this above junk on my MSRP, it would make my deal look better than it really is.

I have only seen a couple of deals ever that really looked super.

If you can get 6-7% off true OEM MSRP and low dealer fees, you got a super deal.

AND .... dealers can play with your trade and put more or less in it and that really changes the price you paid ... only way to figure this is ... outright purchase without a trade.

Don't trade unless they give you what you want. You have other choices here. Negotiate on distributor add ons or refuse them. I would never pay for air in my tires so just deduct that one. Last 2 I bought I said find me one with minimal adds. $200 is ok for tint not $275. You can get it for less taking to a tint shop but may not be worth the trouble.

Welcome. We paid $41k otd for our sport 4x4 with the prem upgrade, bed cover, towing, tint, ext warranty, that scratch bullshit under the handles etc this was back in October at Toyota of Dallas. I need to look at the paper work for all the details.

I've tried following this from time to time to see how we did. This was when they first came out and no one was really negotiating much. We tried several dealers and decided we wanted out of our crv and into something else before the value on it dropped too much. I did get a pretty fair trade in for the crv. They gave us 13k for a 2010 exl with 70k

private they go for around $14k, maybe $15k in that condition, possibly more if we held out forever. The car wasn't perfect, had a couple dings, scratch on the mirror, but had a new, nice remote start and brand new tires. I'm sure they yanked the remote start off. I'd take the hit all day over dealing with craigslist bums for weeks to months.

so here's my report after working it all out. yesterday everything went south as i offered 2 options to my 3rd dealer and was declined on both (noted in previous posts in this thread).

today i put down a deposit on a '17 TRD Pro 6MT with bed lights and charge/connect kit for $42,193 + TTL. it's an MSRP price, so i'm pretty happy. just saved $2k from yesterdays offer that the other dealer didn't even take seriously. so odd. but, hey, i'm getting my Pro with a MT!

Good to know. I've only sold three vehicles. One was through a gm forum, one was through friends and one by the old park it on the side of the field method.

Just joined the club and feel like I got a great deal!

After looking for a little over a month I finally found my truck.

Paid $33,320 (out the door) for a new Barcelona Red 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 Double Cab (Sticker MSRP was $37,450 and over 38k including destination/ dealer options) State sales tax in AR is based on price paid after trade in, so that will be right around $1,000.

It has tow package, bed liner, bed lights, upgraded mats, wireless connectivity package (QI Charger), back seat USB outlet, chrome muffler tip, mud flaps, and a few other upgrades. Really the only thing it doesn't have is the premium technology package with JBL and Sunroof. Barcelona Red was my #1 color option. Truck was built July 28th so it had to be one of the last 2016s built.

Anyway, I'm loving the truck and plan to slowly add some mods but still keep a mainly stock look.

I'm guessing I got really lucky. The truck was located at a smaller dealership about 45 minutes from me, was shipped to the dealership late, came at the very end of the month right after the 2017s dropped. Sales guy said I was getting it for exactly the price his manager paid for it.
