Hey @whopper could you all give us a detailed writeup on what your symptoms were prior to installing the Flowmaster? For instance, vibration on a scale of 1-10 in the pedal and steering wheel. We'd definitely appreciate it! Alot of us are contemplating on purchasing.

I have noticed the same thing on occasion, but mine seems to stop after only a couple of miles.

My Truck isn't constent it's intermitting its a annoying problem for sure.I've seen youtube videos on Generation 2's.having the same vibration problems as our generation 3's.So this is a ongoing problem that Toyota still hasn't figured out.

As a disclaimer, this is my first post, and I have not even driven a Tacoma yet; mine will not be delivered until late October (TRD Sport, manual transmission, Access cab, Quicksand), but I solved a similar vibration problem on another vehicle and the solution might be of interest. Over 10 years ago I put a Ford Racing 302 crate engine into a 1968 MGB GT. The installation went fine but there was a vibration between 1800 and 2400 RPM (worst between 2000 and 2300 RPM). The vibration was felt in the floor, steering and gas pedal, and was worse in the higher gears. Looking on Mustang forums I found that the 302 engines are known for having a harmonic vibration at those speeds but it is not generally felt unless stiffer than stock engine mounts are used. The engine, transmission, and exhaust in the MG were all rubber mounted, but there was no room for the Ford engine mounts so I used stiffer Jaguar XKE mounts. In thinking about the problem I felt that the exhaust system, being rigidly attached to the engine, might be amplifying the vibrations. To check this, I installed flex joints just behind the headers to mechanically isolate the exhaust pipes from the engine, and this eliminated the vibration. Therefore, I think a flex joint in the Tacoma exhaust system, maybe just behind the cat, might be worth trying, especially as the vibration has been reported to respond to changes in the cat back exhaust configuration.

So, do you guys feel confident that Toyota will eventually have a fix for this vibration issue? It's a constant source of irritation to me, and I'm on the fence about keeping the truck because of it. My dealer, who drove it, agreed it's an issue, and filed a case with Toyota for me. He said it might take anywhere between next week and a year for them to have a fix for it though. He did say he thought they would come out with a fix though. If I was positive they would remedy it, I'd just stick it out. But, I want to do a lot more to my truck, and I just can't make myself do it based on this irritating vibration! I waffle back and forth about every day as to cut my losses and move on, or wait on Toyota.

I doubt it because it was also an issue on the last generation

I suggested installing flex sections eons ago in this thread, but so far nobody has bit.

Good to hear such a fix worked for a similar problem on another vehicle.
