    Not sure what this connection is for - anyone?

    location right next to steering column, noticed it when I had everything apart for my instrument cluster LED install.

    Take a look at all the parts you removed. Match each one that you find with its mate underneath the dash. If you have one less connector on the parts you removed than you have underneath the dash I would think the connector in the photo is unused.

    that plug is in my dash, unused. No idea what its there for. probably some option we never got

    I from that location, I would bet it's either for a ect button or diff lock. Probably un-used(no need for it) if you don't have one of those options in your truck.

    interesting. well i can confirm its not for ECT, diff lock, keyless entry since I have all of those options. As for power taps, I have the two + cig lighter so not for those either. Don't recall the colors of the wiring but I will look again. more to follow...

    The EWD connector list shows 2 Black plugs that look like that B 4 (Blower motor Connector) And R 4 (Rheostat) Chances are that's connector R 4. What that rheostat would be for I couldn't tell you, unless your dimmer is unplugged, but you'd have no interior dash lights
