Imagine hearing the sounds of geese or turkeys mating. Then listen to my suspension. Started at 2800 miles and went away. Came back around 4900 miles and will not quit. When I get in it cold it is quiet. After 10 minutes in the heat the noise begins and stays until it is parked. Near passenger uca or top spring mount. Not either of those. Thinking bad body bushing.

Man that would drive me nuts on a brandnew truck. Im not sure what the problem is but maybe pick up an aerosol can of lithium grease and start spraying one area at a time until the noise goes away.

This might help pin point where the problem is.

I hate to "mask" the noise before it gets to the dealer. I don't want the dealer spraying anything either. It is rainy today and is less noisy.

Talked to bro-in-law last night. He had same issue on a new 2009 V10 Ford truck. His was sway bar bushings. Dealer called me. Sway bar bushings bone dry with something like dried grease. Lubricated. Fixed. Transmission was 1 qt low. Fixed. They must have a campaign or tsb about transmission. They were very knowledgeable about the low fluid issues. Got fingers crossed. Never want to hear that sound in suspension again. If I do at least I know where to look. Thanks First Team Toyota. I am this HAPPY NOW.toothless smile.jpg

If the bushings are bad, the lube will only be a temporary fix.

At 5k I have plenty of warranty left to see if returns. Brother in law never heard his again after same fix in a F250. I can always upgrade to ones with zerks down the road. Main thing is they located it. It was driving me apezhit trying to pinpoint it.

My quote from other thread, I am thinking very front body bushing, that's where mine is coming from. I am running no sway bar.

This weekend I will look for signs of the "fixed" bushing and check the tranny fill plug that I painted white to show wrench marks for the atf fill and check. All I can say is it is quiet. It was noisy 4 days in April and went away. Then 3 weeks ago it returned continuously after 10 minutes of driving in the mid 80 temps. I park on a curving uphill driveway. Before the fix it sounded like I was running over geese coming in. I don't hear it now. I will listen closely over the long weekend for any signs of noise but am fairly confident they found it. Transmission shifts great now too.

Every time I back down hill out of driveway and shift to drive it hesitated. Started as soon as I bought it new years weekend. Thought was part of the "learning tranny" process. Over time became more apparent. 1-2 and 2-3 also hesitated more than expected. Did it couple of times in passing gear. The R to D hesitation got a lot worse the past 2 weeks. If you are unfamiliar, the best explanation I have found, that makes complete sense, is they assembled trucks with and without tow packages in the same line or plant. The general opinion is that they did not account for the extra fluid required in the tow package cooler and lines. That seems very logical. It does seem to be more complaints from those with the factory tow package. I can absolutely feel a great improvement. Took a couple of trips on it with no problems before but knew it had to be checked soon. I would tell anyone buying a new one to read TW and have all the known issues checked by the selling dealer before you drive it home.
PS I bought it 300 miles away from home so couldn't run it back to the dealer. Just waited for 5k service. If she blowed up I figured it was under warranty anyway.

Turns out both front body mount bushings were bad, see picture of one of the bushings, only been a couple days but noise is gone.

I saw your first post in my search for clues a while back. The dealer would not look at opposite side when passenger side went bad. Mine was fixed with one bushing. That had to be the most embarrassing annoying sound I ever heard. I parked mine 11 days until Toyota Corporate saw the video and approved the repair. I cannot imagine how both bad ones would sound. Mine did it a couple of days and quit. Then around 6 weeks later it was non-stop. I was mad they would not at least look at my driver side.

Mine was just the passenger side for the first 9 months but in the last month, the driver side started as well. The picture is the passenger side one and I didn't get a picture of the drivers side one but it was also mangled.

My 3rd Gen did it too, I had to fight with Toyota to resolve it too.
