There's guys here who are willing to buy "MSRP" only. We have no choice because Toyota will make only 2500. Besides we have to call the dealership to make sure they don't have markups. If they do we keep calling until we find a dealership that sells for the MSRP. Then the process of when they are allocated for one and hold it if you want it. There might be other people out there who have the money to buy the markups but will not be in this forum anyways. It's there money and I don't care of how they spend it. It's not anyone concern except themselves. Will they use this vehicle what it suppose to do? Probably not.

I debated waiting long and hard. Finally decided I just loved the quicksand color too much and that the TRD OR was more than enough for me.

    so, back on topic,
the point here is that, IF YOU ARE SEEKING A 17 PRO AT MSRP, THEN THEY CAN BE FOUND.
even in DFW. just did it today at msrp. but it requires time, effort, and patience, and not everyone has it.

As much as I wanted to buy the TRD Pro, I couldn't justify spending 50k on a truck. Living in Santa Barbara sucks @ss because it's hard finding an apartment with a garage and the Taco is not a car I would feel comfortable parking outside. Decided to buy a Rav4 Hybrid, but when the right time comes, I will definitely pick up a Taco or Raptor.

I'm right there with you man! I just got moved back to Laguna Beach and sold my Raptor before I got moved back out and bought a Dodge Charger. There is no way the Raptor would have fit inside the garage at my apartment and I wasn't leaving it out in the general parking. I think a Tacoma would actually fit though. My neighbor can get his 2wd crew cab 5.5ft bed Chevy 1500 in his garage right next to mine.

There are 2 TRD PRO's in the bay area for sale, both cement. Just in case anyone in California is looking for one

Sure enough, shits and giggles this am sent an email to local dealer who had just posted an ad on cars.com, short story is their first allocation deal fell thru yesterday. Truck was just unloaded from the carrier and sitting on the lot. Dealer didn't have any markup but did want full MSRP, I looked at it and couldn't walk away, life is short. Factory options included a roof rack, tonneau, all weather mats/door sills and mud guards.

I'm taking a week long trip to remote SE Oregon in a couple weeks, lots of off-road planned and we'll see how well the suspension performs.

I like the trd pro. Shame is that if I ever bought one I'd rip out that factory suspension and lift it 3" with a king or fox setup. Add some proper wheels and tires and then it's worth msrp.

    ^Nice truck. Now lift it.

Yeah it wouldn't have come from Toyota with the tonneau or the rack, dealer probably added it. Sucks about the front license plate too, I hate that.

Picked her up..... nice part, no oversized badges under the mirrors. Drove it back from Arizona, outstanding ride. Props to Kim Franklin at AutoNation Toyota Tempe. Smooth deal and fast. Thanks Kimimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

ok here we go. I've owned two tacos, a 2010 OR and a 2013 Baja. Once I heard they stopped making the pro, to redesign it, I couldn't wait. Save, save, get ready to buy. Month after month, then pics, then the pro video, then the real pics. Maybe my opinion will change over time but wtf???

First, just to backtrack, I had to sell my 2010 b/c the front suspension was falling apart after 90k miles, bought it new for $31k, got $18k for trade in. I bought the Baja used with 20k miles for $32k, and bought a 100,000 warranty for $1k. Now I have 55k miles on it. I love these god damn trucks for some reason. I spend every weekend working on it, washing it, giving it non needed maintenance, changing fluids that normal people don't ever do. Read forums, read, research, wash, shit, wtf. What my truck wants, I give it. I don't have any kids. I have my Tacoma. I also drive the eff out of em. 20k miles a year with my commute, through Pittsburgh winter hell, ice, salt, potholes.

Here comes the new Pro. I have not driven one, my dealer has not received one, last sales guy didn't know what the new Pro was (last month).

Anyway, I'll make myself get used to the new front/rear end, it may take time but it will come. I was hoping for a mini Raptor. Might not be able to compete with a <$20k price tag, than a Raptor but damn, lets at least try.

Engine: shitty gas mileage (which I am fine with but at least make it fast) or give it better mileage, is that impossible?

Rear leafs: I put a half yard of gravel in my Baja last week and it looked like a dog taking a shit. Same rear leafs on the Pro

Front Springs/Shocks: Can we lift it 2 in instead of 1 in, after all these years?

Pro wheel/tire package: are you kidding me? slicks. Just thinking about this package pisses me off.

    Exhaust: same? maybe. yawn, whatever

Black fender flares? need to be same color and extend.

Led lights: we're slowly getting there, it takes 10 years for this truck to catch up.

All I'm saying is that when I see a Raptor coming the other way, it turns heads. That truck cracks skulls. I know it cost more, it's in a different category, I know it doesn't tow or haul. I know it looks like it will eff you up....I shouldn't have to spend $45k on a 1/4 ton truck, then immediately take it to my off road shop to redesign the lift/wheel/tire package, hope it aligns and rides somewhere close to stock just to get it to look like a badass truck, new muffler, painted fenders, and instagram the shit out of it.

Sorry for the drunken rant. I was only hoping for more. I don't read Raptor forums, but I know how hard it is to save up $45k to spend it on a midsize pickup only to drive it to work for a couple years, then repeat.

Oh, and did we get heated outside mirrors? I'm sure not. That should be mandatory safety option (like my 96 Cherokee)

    Kevin

Congratulations on your PRO. Enjoy it, she's a beauty. I'd be tempted if they made it in an access cab.

OP was the roof rack preinstalled or was it an option selected by the initial buyer or something?

i have mine ordered in Cement but i'm trying to get white. just don't like this gray, which is weird since it's a favorite, just not this one. but i was planning on wrapping the truck anyway so i guess it's no big deal.
