Man... It was nasty today. Definitely more difficult than I thought it would be.

Yea, I can only imagine. I haven't seen the rock garden yet. Did you check out the mine?

I'll have to check it out. But if I see any rigs I'll post up in the Colorado Trip Reports because that's one of the threads I'm in

Yeah, the last poser photo is at the mine. Tried getting photos of the actual mine shaft, but it was way too dark to see anything. Pretty cool area to explore around after the trail.

Man, I should post my vids of spring Creek from years ago, 31's, sliders, 2" lift, and nothing else, open diffs all around, made for an interesting trail.

I have started spring Creek 3 times and not made it past the 2nd obstical due to being underbuilt/a pussy

Obstacle 1 definitely caught me off guard. As soon as you hit the trail it's game on. I've got some gopro footage to chop up and make a video out of as well. I'm sure most of the footage from today consists of us getting out, looking at shit, stacking shit, falling off shit, finally getting over shit... Yeah

So you guys are telling me you'll pitch in funds for said bumper? Do I need to make it official with a GoFundMe page?

Warning: Massive post and photo dump.

Had a fun outing at Wheeler Lake today w/ @3378jakesr5 & @CO MTN Steve. It was fun to return to the trail almost a year later to date w/ Jake and see how far our rigs have come in that time. Last fall Jake was still sitting on IFS and I was still on worn 285s and a prayer. We couldn't have asked for a better day to get out and observe the vegetation as it begins to change colors under clear blue skies. Wasn't quite the notorious golden landscape that the area is known for, but fall is fast approaching.

Today was my first attempt up Flopper (first obstacle on the trail). It was extremely easy, the photo gives no justice, but whatever.

@3378jakesr5 on his way up the V-notch.

    Another angle:

Made it up the notch with ease. The dakars worked exceptionally today. I'm always impressed with the performance of such a "limited" rear suspension.

May not be the most clear photo, but it was one that Callie took and one that I enjoy. We're both still learning the ins and outs of our new camera (and today I learned that I am horrible at focus points).

Damn proud of the work & engineering @3378jakesr5 has done with his rig thus far. 20 year old engineering student who had his old Toyo pickup totaled in an accident (and smashed his noggin along the way), came back and SAS'ed a 2nd gen, and has crafted every bit of the rig by himself to look/perform as he desires. It was great to see him get redemption all over the trail today and truly test it's limits on some obstacles (i.e. slammed the front and rear at the same time).
[IMG]Jake Poser 1_zpsy3ugmwsj by Austin Lee, on Flickr

Had to sit on poser rock and snap some photos of the work I've done in the last year. Pretty sure Callie grabbed this photo.
[IMG]Putt Putt Poser 2_zpsbrdmltcf by Austin Lee, on Flickr

Slammed the 35s so much that the trimmed fenders siped the tires on their own :cookiemonster:. This was certainly the most I've stuffed the rear, and informed me that I need to trim the front portion of the fenders just a tad.
[IMG]Putt Putt Poser 1_zpsmzsk8zoc by Austin Lee, on Flickr

    One for the books:
[IMG]DSC08522_zpsnleub7dw by Austin Lee, on Flickr

[IMG]DSC08517_zpsbsnwdjat by Austin Lee, on Flickr

Oh yeah... I let Callie drive a fair portion of the trail on the way down. She's driven the rig two times prior to, can hardly drive a standard, and rocked the shit out of it. Couldn't believe some of the lines she decided to take and obstacles she was comfortable tackling for her first time ever at the wheel.
