So I found someone selling a set of icon coilovers, Model 58630 standard travel to be exact. The seller claims "they're brand new only been on the truck for 3 weeks." He Also said "just sent back to icon for the newest revalved and Teflon internal bushing for the damping rod hardware" I don't even know what that means.. He selling it pretty cheap. I haven't had a chance to go check them out yet.

So my question to you guys is, what should I look for when I go check them out? I don't want to buy coilovers that are going to give me problems. Thanks for the help!!!

What do You think? Jump on it or no? The gentleman is claiming he's getting rid of it because he's getting a Chevy. The icons came off of a 2011 Tacoma

Look clean. Just seems kind of unusual after "3 weeks" of use they've already been back to Icon for fuckery and he's got a new truck.

Just me being cautious, maybe. How cheap is cheap?

I wouldn't buy from anyone posting for sale pics via SnapChat lol

In all seriousness, if they were on the truck for "only 3 weeks" and were sent back to Icon, I wouldn't touch them...

What do you think are the possible reasons he sent them back to icon?

Well I can tell you that I could do a lot of damage to some coilovers in 3 weeks. Improper install leading to issues. Issues with them upon arrival of some sort. Could be a lot of things. But it just sounds kind of sketchy to me.

If a deal sounds to good to be true, it usually is IMO.

Can anyone with icons chime in and let me know if I can use the serial number on the back of the sellers coilovers to actually call icon and ask them why they were sent back? The seller is insisting that I do that. But icon is not open today

I bought a set of blown icons and leafs for 400$ they were the extended travel 2.5s. I had them rebuilt locally still running strong to this day. Even if they are blown which I find hard to believe just get them rebuilt and you'll still be cheaper than buying them new. I'd be more likely to check somehow if they're stolen.. when minty parts show up on CL for a too good to be true price that's usually the case

How much did it cost you to get them rebuilt?

It's was like 350 locally they're like what 1700 new for 2.5s so I paid 750$ for 3/4 of my original lift, I've since spent 3 times that but that's cause I kept going bigger lol
