I just traded-in my 2006 4runner for cpo 2015 toyota tacoma 4wd trd off road double cab with 12k miles on it. I am searching for the best side rail or step rail to install on my tacoma. I'm thinking to get the nfab nerf bars wheel to wheel 2" main tube. so guys help me out on this 1st mod of my tacoma. what is the best of everything step rail on the market?

    Welcome!

Sliders... you need sliders. Ones that bolt or weld to the frame of the truck.

I installed Avid Off Road bolt-on step sliders (to the rockers) not knowing that bolting or welding to the frame offers the best protection (I was a rookie too, once). Fortunately I was recently able to buy a set of 8 brackets from Brandon that turns them into weld on sliders. I don't do any rock crawling, but I do bounce over logs and such, so I needed better protection. Now I can use my Hi-Lift to jack my truck from the side bars. My truck is lifted on 33's, so the piddley factory jack is moot. Bars that bolt to the rockers are merely window dressing.

There are many vendors here that make proper off road sliders that can take abuse and protect your truck. Check the side bar on the main page.

... and while you're here, get ready to:
