NASCAR (and all sports merchandising) rely on Man-crushes to generate millions in revenue. It's still baffling to see an agro bro at the track slathered in another man's likeness. We've all seen the guy: Monster hat, NOS jacket, Kyle Busch lanyard, Kyle Busch M&Ms shirt, Busch beer coozy, Kyle Busch Interstate Batteries cooler, yelling the most obscenely homophobic slurs at drivers, announcers, bystanders, track officials, etc...

I know, I've seen the the kind of fan you're talking about. I'm kind of an anomaly as a NASCAR fan. I started following NASCAR in the 60s when I was just a kid. And as a car guy, my favorites were the guys that drove the right make...Pontiac. Why was I a Pontiac fan? Because we drove a Pontiac and my dad thought they were the best cars. Unfortunately, Pontiac dropped out of NASCAR in 63, and it wasn't until around 1978 that I had a Pontiac driver to cheer for. You can imagine how bummed out I was when GM discontinued the Pontiac brand.

In all seriousness I thought about it on the way to the office, NASCAR can help if they make being a fan cheaper. Maybe a monthly membership to watch the races online rather than an expensive cable subscription

Three first time winners among the top three divisions. NICE! Congrats to Kyle Larson on his first win. Great to see him finally get that one in the bag. Good runs by Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney too.

And, TBH, I'm okay with this burnout...

    Now, let's get to Darlington!

2016 paint scheme updates are FINALLY out for NASCAR '15 Victory Edition. it's free DLC for all platforms. Mixed info on whether it's an in-game prompted update or a DLC pack you have to search and download. Anyway, it should be available for all platforms over the next 24 hours.

You guys catch what Tony tweeted about Kaepernick? While he was brash, he was just basically I'm disagreement with the protest Kaepernick is doing. All the social Justice warriors are full force trolling now about him being a "murderer". Makes me feel terrible about the world we live in where this is normal behavior on social media.

I'm sick and tired of everything being racist and political correct. If a white guy sat down while a black person was getting a standing ovation the nfl would suspend him.

Ha, yeah, I deleted my FB last month because I was tired of waking up to see what everyone decided to be angry about for that day. It's been pretty nice. I didn't see what Tony tweeted, nor will I. "Meh," whatever. I feel like twitter is just another way to get yourself in trouble online & in public. I don't need any added drama to my life.

Anybody been to Carolina Motorsports Park, outside of Camden, SC? The crew I'm tailgating with at Darlington are going to do some high speed kart racing there before heading home. We're driving over (4 hours) on Sunday AM, spending the night and driving back early Monday AM. This is a terrible idea. I have two papers and two quizzes the next day. :annoyed:

Well, that's it's for Dale Jr this year, Hendrick Motorsports just announced Gordon (darlington, Richmond, martinsville, 1 other) and Bowman has the rest of the races this year.

I'll stand by my claim he wouldn't come back this year, but the way his recovery is going he might be done for good.
