I'm guilty of this. If I've gotta fart, it's coming out. Most of the time it ends up being mid-set too.

What if your client doesn't belong to a gym?

Would you be willing to rent space either by session (like you said, for a percentage of your training fee) or a flat rate/month for space that you could use with your own clients?

Eventually I plan on having my own space but for the time id pay a flat rate to a gym that I could use their space/equipment

I possibly even charge that client a few dollars more to help absorb the cost of said rental space. I wouldn't stick it to them but maybe instead of 50-70 / session it would be 55-75

That's what I was thinking. The trainer can set their price to the client to help subsidize their cost of using the space. The facility owner charges the trainer a flat fee/month or per session (either a fee or % of their fee to the client). I would think the flat fee would be the better value for the trainer though :notsure:

I was thinking it would be the perfect thing for someone trying to start their own training business but not forcing them to take on overhead yet and even allowing them to network with other trainers and learn together to build their business better.

Not being a dick or anything but yea I was serious. You said you kept gaining everytime you ate more carbs and you said your calorie count is 2200-2500. I'm 220lb and on a cut my calories are 2800. Just seems really low to be gaining fat on your seesaw keto diet.

What I would think would be most beneficial is to train people at a gym for now. You don't have to pay for equipment and you get more exposure to potential clients (free advertising). Once you get a good client base built up to where you don't need/want to add new clients, you could transition to doing it out of your home or something like that after you get a steady stream of cash coming in and build the trust of people...from what I've seen, most people looking for trainers are women and, with you just starting out, I think a woman is more likely to agree to be trained at a gym in front of people without having to worry about you throwing her in a well and wearing her skin. Also, if you're good at it, other folks will see you transforming 2's into 10's and want to jump on the wagon, too.

    Trying to be responsible, brah.

Also, for this weekend, I'm not sure we're coming to Blue Ridge anymore. We're bringing a satellite and tv so we can watch foobtall all day Saturday at the campsite. I want to go to BR still, but I'll have to see what everyone else wants to do. That being said, you're welcome to stop by, watch some foosball, and drink some beer with us.

Same. No matter where I am, I'll fart if I need to...drives the wife nuts.

That's what I am saying - not a lot of gyms allow outside trainers and if you wanted to do your own thing and not necessarily be employed by a gym then having a place you can train someone would be key. Sure you can use a park but if you need equipment you may be SOL trying to find a spot.

Everybody's body is different. Carbs are the devil for my body. I gain fat and muscle very quickly. When I was gaining fat I was not on keto. When I am on keto I drop fat. You must have a fast metabolism, or a really active and taxing job, if your cut is 2800 calories. My "maintenance" would be around 2800, but who wants to maintain?!

I'd just try to negotiate. We have an outside trainer at our gym and the owner lets him train folks for a small fee (not sure if a flat monthly rate or a percentage). Also, the owner requires trainees to get a membership. You can probably work something out with an owner to where trainees can get a discounted membership or something....just gotta do a little negotiating.

I just wanna make sure you're not mistaking "being lean" or "losing fat" with "reduced water weight" and vice versa. Say you eat the same amount of carbs for a month, you'll gain those extra water weight making you look "less leaner" initially but if you're really on a deficit you shouldn't gain anymore weight after that.

Students are back and the gym is crazy again. I was almost kicked in the face by a guy doing handstand push-ups in the middle of a walk way, with no support and people benching right next to him.
