This is in Hawaii & will need to be shipped unless you live here. 1st gen, bought in Cali & brought it over, decided not to install, so its up for sale. It comes with installation kit from Toyota, which may be for the 2nd gen, also additional belt & tensioner.Looking to get $2000 no less + shipping.

    o_O

$2k for a supercharger is not unreasonable at all...most go for double that.

wait a second...I just realized that may have been a facetious comment...my bad, I've had a drink or two, carry on....

Yea..uh..wtf you talkin bout Willis? Haha can buy a brand new one from LCE, a 2nd gen one at that, for 3k.

This think isn't worth more then a grand. And that's if it doesn't need a full rebuild.

Ehhhh, maybe...I don't know about the first gen TRD superchargers (grey ones), but with the black version you get the added benefit of knowing they are 50 state legal, which is a huge selling point for the Cali market anyhow.

FWIW, based on what I've seen these things go for on here (and they tend to sell like hotcakes), $2k isn't out of line. Don't see too many first gen s/c's up for sale though so we'll see. At any rate, good luck with your sale OP. Lot's of guys on this board are itchin' for boost, I don't think you'll have too much trouble getting rid of it.

Instillation kit might be for a second gen... Elaborate? Did you buy the wrong install kit? I didn't even know you could buy an "install kit"

I just bought a gray body one..for 850. And had one lined up for 450 a few months before.

The gray ones aren't more desirable if anything they are less desirable due to the two piece design.

2k is way out of line. Unless it had the entire install hardware and all then urd stuff and headers.

There is an install kit for 1st gen tacoma superchargers. It however does not include a ton of parts actually needed for install. Barely an install kit really.

Now now Monte, don't become a SC snob now that you have one...haha

You have to remember he is in Hawaii which everything is more expensive and this could be a great deal for them. They don't pop up as readily as on the mainland and shipping is a pita. Obviously sucks for any interested buyer in the mainland, but it shouldn't be horrible. I'm not saying this isn't prices high but there are reasons why.

OP you really need to take a picture of everything you have, there are a lot of parts needed for install and it would be good for potential buyers to know what the are getting. Particularly the dynamic tensioner as a new one is $250. I can help identify the parts you have if you post them.

Now onto this gray/black comparison. It's complete crap! Performance and rebuild wise they are the same thing, just different housings. The only advantage the black has is you can replace the nose cone oil without taking the entire sc off. But you only need to replace it every 30k or so and its very easy to modify the gray nose cone for a top fill/drain port. You just have to do it before installing the SC. The only other convenience of the black is the availability of replacement nose cones. Great for people who want a 30 min job but manually replacing the bearings on the nose cones is very simple and a ton cheaper than buying a new nose cone.

Sorry op for the info dump, figured it would help your sale, but I can remove my post of you want.

    Robert,
Thanks for the help. This may not be the place to be asking full or a high price, but considering the options are few, I figured I would list. Here are pictures of what comes with...........

Haha yeah I know, I've mentioned it before to you but people have this weird stigma about the 1st gen SC's.

So you pretty much have everything you would need sans the tubing which is cheap/easy to get. Even have rebuild parts for the nose cone which is awesome.

So anyone interested, this is actually one of the most complete kits I've seen and a good buy if you want to be boosted without the headache of sourcing parts.

Well for what it's worth I bought my grey supercharger now painted Black new in 1998 and have 502,000
miles on it. I rebuild the whole unit every 150,000 miles just to be safe and it's still screaming with power.
Dont know of ANY 2nd gen trd superchargers that have close to the miles mind does.
Supercharger was the best investment I ever did.
I think I paid paid 2500 for it new in 1998.
The rebuild guy told me there's NO differance between the 1st gen and the 2nd gen in performance
or power. The same spec in performance,

It's all about the pully size, stock pully is I think 5 pounds, I'm running a 2.1 pulley and
put out max 8-9 at 5000 feet, at sea level would be more.
