If I can get the money together for my lift/tires before the Black Mountian trip I might be going. Hopefully, Hopefully getting a job this week and I'm gonna be saving up hardcore for it. Duratracs and a basic 5100/AAL setup.

I've started a dedicated thread for the Harlan trip. It's in this forum. Those interested in going, post there when you can.

If you have a rear locker do you have the air powered or electronic?

Electronic actuated come OEM on the TRD Offroad, some upgrade the base, TRD Sport, or Offroad to ARB (or similar) pneumatic actuated. I have the poor man's "lunchbox" locker that is basically locked all the time. Powertrax-No Slip, I'm happy with it, serves my purpose well. A selectable locker would definitely be better for the $$$

I think ARB pneumatic is the most popular I see on 2ND gen, not sure about 3rd gen but I'd say it's the same. Pricey though. Really comes down to how much you want to pay lol

Just ordered something "ARB".....Got a tire deflator on the way from 4 Wheel Parts. My CO2 inflator works so well, I had to take the next step. And unlike my experience in the sand @ Blue Holler last fall with 38psi, my tires performed very well in the sand @ Badlands with 18 psi. Now I just gotta get a go pro so I can video all my "de-beads"......

If you debead at 18psi on factory rims, you have bigger problems to worry about....like how the hell you flipped over.

Was a joke at me for debeading twice in the same spot at AOP (12psi), then trying to talk him in to airing down when we wheeled Blue Holler. He declined. Sand Cave shenanigans ensued....

When I was still racing dirt bikes, I LOVED riding in sand. The trick was to NEVER let off the throttle. WFO all the way! You had to stay up off the seat and carry your weight back over the rear fender most of the time. It favored guys with strong legs. We rode a "reliability trial" (qualifier for International Six Day Enduro) in Michigan every year that was on whooped out sand trails that were snowmobile trails in the winter and dirt bike trails in the summer. That, and the "Summer Bummer Enduro" in Roselawn Indiana were my favorites. Almost all sand.... Summer Bummer was also ran on the grounds of a nudist colony. I have some memories from THAT too!

Looking at that video, it's hard to comprehend just how miserable I felt that day. 10 hours later, I was in the emergency room getting the first of what proved to be many medical procedures before life returned to normal (whatever "normal" is....)

And....10 months later, I'm FINALLY able to air down/air up when and where I want to.....I never do anything in a hurry...
