It's not inconceivable. When I was test driving 2016 Tacomas back in Sept/Oct 2015 I watched as another salesman backed a brand new SR5 Tacoma into another new Toyota SUV. I'm sure they ended up having to repair the bumpers on the vehicles. However there have been photos of trucks being delivered with the wrong decals on the bed, missing decals all together and then we have multitudes of reports on other QC issues coming in from factory. No it's no inconceivable, it's just more likely than not that the Factory has screwed this up based on recent past performance.

You realize it was enacted in 1963 as a result of other Countries putting tariffs on Chickens from the US? There have been plenty of small trucks in this Country over the last 53 years, Subaru originally got around it with the Brat by putting those 2 seats in the bed.

I'm sure fender flares and bumpers are the most damaged parts in transit. I would gamble to guess you could find an off road with center painted front bumper somewhere. I'm not saying Toyota could not have done it or that they're perfect. Rather it's much more likely a mistake made by the dealer.
As for mechanical or interior problems I agree it's most likely a QC problem, but as for exterior flares, bumpers, paint match and decals I would say that's much more likely to be a dealer mistake. Not that Toyota is perfect or that they can't make that mistake, just that statistically speaking it's probably the dealer. I would also go so far to say that 90% of the color match problem threads on here where done by a dealer.

Dealer's don't install fender flares. I'd say it is much more likely this was a mistake on a mass production line vs. a one-off Body shop / dealer repair issue.

    Think about it
