    Great write up.What did you use to seal everything with? The instructions say mastic, not silicone. Not sure what mastic refers to.

    I used some high temp RTV for now. I will redo it later with something better but overall it works.

    I got some butyl mastic from Home Depot. It's weather stripping cord ( caulking ). Saw it in a Tacoma snorkel video.

    ya, It took a few months before I got mine. I was in no hurry though. I went 8 years without one what's it matter if you have to wait a few more months.

    I don't know the measurement but the max depth is the intake in the fender well. I still won't go that deep just because once you soak the ECU you're done too. One thing I have learned is deep water destroys things.

    This part helps me immensely. I actually have a Hilux snorkel installed, and the bracket doesn't match up to the A pillar at all. I was considering doing research on those tools where you can put in a threaded fitting, but I don't even know what that fitting is really called. This is something that not only cuts a ton of machining out of the equation, it also keeps the A pillar metal completely whole so there's no rust or water entry. I like it!

    Also, for the next guy doing this: instead of buying the $40+ roll on Amazon, you can get a smaller amount from Home depot or Wal-Mart in 1" x 3" packet for under $6.

    Great write up. Really appreciate the clean photos.

    Two questions:

    1. Any reason to use a 105mm or 4 1/8 inch hole saw instead of the 102mm / 4 inch that is shown on the template?

    2. What was the reasoning to use the military grade Velcro on the A-pillar to Secure the bracket instead of drilling holes and screwing in the bracket?

    NOTE: I just bought an airflow snorkel with the killer deal from tcBob's group buy #3. Made the impulse buy and now gotta figure out the details. LOL.

    I asked because Ryan used the 105mm, and the template shows 102mm. I guess using the butyl mastic (weatherstrip & caulking cord) would help fill and seat the small gap if going with the 105mm. Again, appreciate the insight!

    I used a 4 1/8" hole saw and it left a comfortable amount of play where the snorkel passes through the fender. I think it's a good choice as opposed to the 4". I also used a 5/16th bit to drill the stud holes, much smaller than the 10mm that's recommended in the instructions. There is alot more play in the install than you would think.

    Cut & broke off some stuff.
    the elbow won't fit in 4" hole. Much easier install and you can push the elbow up flush on snorkel body if you use the 4-1/8 hole.
