Hopefully your experience with the Cochrane sales and finance team goes well once the truck is in. I have been a fan of their parts department in the past and it's manned by good guys but I've heard nothing but grief on the sales and financing side. I have many friends and acquaintances in the Cochrane area who wheel. Very few of them bought their new Tacoma, when it was new, through Cochrane because of the problems getting solid competitive pricing and clear financing.

Well that's unfortunate. Know of anything in particular on the financing side to watch out for by chance?

Just make sure you run the numbers yourself before signing anything. That's the best you can do.

did you negotiate the price before making the down payment or after? I might end up with Cochrane, or maybe go all the way to Vancouver.

Cochrane?? The shop guys are great, but the sales department is a joke. I dealt with them a few times. The manager is the owners son, a total douche. In the end, they couldn't even come close to my number…Country Hills beat them by $2000 on the exact truck (though they too have much room for improvement).

Ya, Mike seems like one of those guys I'd like to deal with. I have a good dealer here in BC, but Mike stands out as a good guy and one who truly cares. At least that's the impression he leaves here. Can't say the same for all the rest of the CA dealers who don't care to post here. Not even commenting on the you tubes Mike posted, thanks for those @MikeLinterman .

The one time I went into Country Hills they wanted me to sign an intent to purchase form before even discussing prices. That was a short visit.

If dealing on a first out the door TRD Pro though you are probably going to pay whatever the dealership wants and pay full financing so it should be a smooth process if not a little costly.

I was prepared to walk away if they weren't reasonable with the price so I didn't mention money until last Thursday when MSRP was finally released. I asked them to send me the final cost breakdown and I was happy with what they gave me.

Well I've heard they turned Waiporous into a golf course so you'll have somewhere to wheel your truck and keep it shiny anyways lol
