Performance and tuning the right forum for brakes?

My front brakes are bad (pulsating really bad when braking). My buddy at a local shop said he can do a complete rotor and pad replacement for $200. They only do new parts there aka they don't turn rotors.

Should I go with this or just get my rotors turned?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Man!!

IMO i would go with replacing the rotors and pads if they are going bad. I will say it is important that you get quality parts otherwise you will end up replacing them again.
A rotor and pad job is not very hard . There are a bunch of members that have done a "how To" on this. Some other member will probably chime in but there are a bunch of brake and rotor kits you can buy online.
I see a bunch of guys using the EBC brakes and brake pads(green stuff brake pads). I think some members said the Centric rotors were good too.

Thanks, I was leaning towards a total replacement. I've researched some DIYs and know I could do it, but just don't have time right now.

The only reason I'm wanting to hold out and do it myself is that I know I can get quality parts, opposed to whatever cheapo crap the shop will use...unless I bring my own parts to them :notsure:

I would ask what types of parts they are going to use,and if they don't seem to be the best quality bring your own parts in.
That way you know you have quality parts on your taco :)

So I found these on Auto Anything. $140 for ceramic pads and slotted and drilled rotors. Also, they have 4.5 stars out of 2450 reviews. Seem good to me...thoughts?

I had those on my 08 and thought they were pretty good rotors and pads. I also have them on my wife 2013 explorer with no issues. I do like the power stops i believe they would be good fit for your truck.

Did this install yesterday. I took my time on the first one to make sure I did everything right, so it took about 45 mins. The second one took about 15 mins. Nothing to it. Also, the Power Stop Brake kit from Auto Anything was perfect.
