First full 5k oil change interval and oil consumption was nill.
It was a little darker than I expect it to be being as I changed it at 1100 and then again at 5k.
This 10k service was a full 5k and had no oil consumption which is welcome news as I don’t like oil burners and that is a deal breaker for me because I don’t like pulling dipsticks all the time.

I also got around to changing the rear diff oil with mobil 75W90 synthetic and as expected, it did have metal shaving and gunk! I will be doing it at the next 5k for no more break-in sludge or shavings.

Sludge and break-in metal shavings at 10k, good thing they still give us a magnet at the drain plug eh? -

The job is super easy, you don’t need a pump if you get the qt bottles, only the spare tire needs to come off for clearance for the bottle. And with the truck level and a small flash light, you can see the level before you drain and after filling. It doesn’t get much easier to service our trucks.

Always change plug gaskets for fill & drain plug to keep chit out and oil in.

Autozone had the best price on the Mobil 75W90 synthetic

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Good deal. Pick up some long magnet 90341-18040 24mm or 90341-18035 10mm hex for next time, cheap and they catch more.
