I hear ya, I just got an 05 Focus for $2800. At 35mph and no commuter miles getting put on the truck it was well worth it!

Yeah going to do it myself. I got to stop sucking my mother's teat sometime right? There is a DIY shop on post so I can take advantage of that. Just waiting now... and looking for some glass. Was looking into glassworks, but keep seeing bad reviews about the service on here. Several options though.

That's what I did. Got an M3 for daily driving, and the Tacoma if it ever gets finished (or if I ever get time off from work) for some more fun.

I bought a DD and it was the best choice ever until I decided it need more power and that went downhill rather quickly. Thought about replacing it with a Prius but somehow I ended up with a ZL1... reliable with lots of power but 18 mpg lmao. Still better than my Tacoma's 13 mpg.

I've seen other pics of that truck during construction, they cut the whole roof off to do the cage too !? you can see the cut lines on the C pillars.

The tubes should come together at a point like my C pillar. I can't really see the roof line too well from this angle.

Yea I looked at othe pictures of the truck and wow, for cutting the roof off there is no excuse for not having a pretty much perfect triangulated cage, the roof has dead tubes all over too, real bummer to see this kind of stuff come from a shop, bet the welds are nice but the rest is junk

Sounds like a ZZR cage right there. Last time I saw Zip he was building a lower, the inside of his lowers had almost no structural integrity, just random bits of metal he welded at whatever angle would fit for that piece of metal. His cages looked roughly the same.
