Hi everyone on this fabulous forum,I've had my 2003 Tacoma for over 8 years now end recently the check engine light came up and first I bought the pre catalytic sensor and install it and no change, then I order the post catalytic sensor and install it and again no change, then I took my truck to a local mechanic shop and he conected a code reader and he said it was giving a code,he said was for the catalytic, then I found out that my truck has two catalytics ,and now I'm confused and I need an advice on what my next step would be ,because I do not want to spend $$$ on a unnecessary part, please help.

    Hey Guadalupe,

Recommend you take it to an Autozone or the dealer (ug) and they can read the code for you. Autozone will do it for free and tell you the code and likely why its being thrown. I had a strange CEL (Check Engine Light) after I drained my Transmission Fluid and it was the sensor for the level that came on. I reset the CEL (i.e. unhooked the battery for 5 min and reconnected) and all good for months now.

Autozone. Get the code and description from the guy. Come on back in the Forum and we can help from there (well, I cant but others smarter than me will)

By the way: Welcome to TacomaWorld!!!
