Just got back into dirt riding when I moved to CO 8 months ago. I'm riding a KTM 500 EXC. If anyone is in the Durango area, I'm almost always riding on the weekends and looking for people to ride with.IMG_0065.jpg

Nice bike! I live in Hermosa area, right down the road from hermosa creek trail. its great being able to ride straight out of the house all the way over to Rico trails and back. During the winter, we ride in NM and go to AZ for desert racing. Let's go riding!

My brother and I have our bikes up here normally, but they are in Tucson at the moment. Took them home over thanksgiving and will have the bikes back up here after New Years. Gonna be coming back with 2 2017 yz450fx's. BRAAAPPP

That's awesome. I've been heading to Moab lately since the weather changed here. I've only ridden once in NM at the Glades but would like to do more riding down there where it's still somewhat warm.

Nice, we were in Montrose a couple weeks ago, rode the round top area for 3 days. Love the riding over there. You should think about going there if you've never been. We don't go over the winter very much because the road closers and pulling a trailer from here through ouray on ice....sketchy.

Besides Moab, I've mainly been riding every pass between Silverton, Ouray, Telluride and Lake City. Pretty sure I did them all this summer trying to relearn how to ride dirt after riding street for so many years. Next summer I'm going to have to branch out a bit. Montrose, Rico and Taylor Park are on the top of the list.

I also got lost on Hermosa Creek Single Track and ended up riding up Dutch Creek Trail. It wasn't until my tenth fall that a mountain biker told me he never saw a dirtbiker try to ride up the trail that I turned around. Good times. It's pretty awesome having single track 5 minutes from my apartment. The KTM being street legal helps a lot too.

I gotta give it to you, good job riding up dutch creek/corral trail. Just have to keep riding the trail along hermosa creek and that will take you up to the backside of purgatory mountain. Both of the YZ450's that will be up here are street legal, which like you said, is a big plus for riding around and you never have to worry about any legal issues.

Are you a student at the fort?

Not a student. Moved here for work. Durango makes a great base camp for dirtbiking and overlanding. Just wish I could figure out a way to get paid to do those things full time.

Gotcha. Not many people move to Durango for work, that's awesome you could find a living here though. No work here for me after I graduate in April, so back to Arizona it is.

Yea, the job market seems slim and the cost of living is almost as much as I was paying living in NYC. It's pretty ridiculous.

Yeah it was a pain getting used to it. I had an apartment last year, $1200 /mo for absolute sh!t hole. Crappy neighbors and theft was common. Had enough of it after a year and got a place outside of town on 3 acres with a great house.

Yup, it's hard living in a destination town. I may have to take over your place in hermosa in April. Haha

It's pretty mean, close to 50hp and about 230 pounds. About the greatest hooligan machine I've ever ridden. But it it would be absolutely the worst daily driver under the sun lol

Would be great here, if only you could ride it as transportation. 2 stroke no go here anymore. On the street

It has a plate and even has full coverage, if your in Colorado you should be able to get one legal pretty easily. Heck I bought this in Denver. I'll commute on it to work a few times a month in the summer, but mostly just short errands and "hooligan activities".
