No frame damage is the key. I'd like to congratulate on handling all the feedback here. If it were me, I don't think I would have handled it as well as you.

Holy Shit!! $8500 and no frame damage. Love to see the itemized bill on this thing.

I agree: you handled this perfectly and I also love your camera set up.

Oh yeah, the other insurance company gave me a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. Engine is nice, but everything else is subpar.

I am not expecting much in the way of additional compensation. Doesn't mean I don't want it and won't ask though

Don't forget to at least follow up with a doctor for a soft tissue damage eval.

Their insurance will pay for an exam, and likely chip in at least a few hundred bucks to get you to settle the medical portion quickly.

    Also, we're dashcam twinsies!

I have mine installed with a multi safer power supply. Lets it stay powered from the trucks battery for a few different time settings after install, or run indefinitely. I picked indefinite, and it goes into parking mode after a while when parked.

Fuse taps/add-a-fuses in the engine bay fusebox.

Multi safer is just a particular brand of power supply with a couple of electronic gizmos that allow an automatic shutdown if battery voltage drops below a critical value and a timed power-down after accessory power shuts off

Here's the estimate, minus sensitive information.
There are a couple of mistakes in the estimate, I have already pointed them out to the body shop. All parts will be ordered from Toyota. There are 2 pieces listed as having aftermarket options for, but they said in all likelihood, Toyota would end up price matching and just giving the OEM version. No moving parts for those ones anyway, I don't think it'd be all that big of a deal if these particular parts aren't factory. (side note: anybody know why nonfactory parts exist for all these individual components in the first place?)

I don't have a whole lot of experience dealing with this stuff (thankfully) so I don't think I'm getting screwed too bad on repair/parts quality.

Getting checked out by a doctor is a scam?

Or making their insurance pay for that checkup?

Or letting them offer a settlement and then choosing to accept or reject that settlement?

Wearing a neckbrace to court when it isn't necessary is a scam. Making sure you're healthy and letting an insurance company make a settlement offer (to hedge their bets against larger future claims) is not.

I'm considering selling one of my two Blackvue cams that OP has if anyone is interested. It would go towards my taco down payment. :D

I have two because I used the front cams front and rear, and the rear cams left and right to get 4 way coverage.

Might actually sell both. One is a newer version that supports Blackvue cloud.
