so the primary reason for a diff drop is to keep the cv boots at the right angle right? If so could I go without the diff drop if I install these boots with the boot slide mod? what happens if the axle is at this angle for an extended period of time? I just tore an inner boot this weekend, obviously because I put off doing the diff drop...

Seabass, I saw this post from 2014 and was wondering after almost 3 years, how have the Cardone CV Axles performed? My 2011 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB has a 3" lift on it. I'm at 88k miles and the inner, right side CV boot just opened up. Tiny hole, so I taped it up for now. Trying to decide if I should just replace the boots or purchase some new, aftermarket CV axles, like the Cardone's or similar.

Researching CV Axles, I saw on Rock Auto toffers the Cardone's. I also debated on staying with the OEM CV Axles and maybe just replace the CV Boots with a SDHQ CV Boot Kit, or a High Angle Boot from Offroad Solutions (http://www.offroadsolutions.com/products/high-angle-inner-cv-boot/) or go with another type boot like the Porsche 930, or the Dorman Silcone http://www.downeyoff-road.com/ChassisComponents/MiscDriveTrain.html.

Anything you can share with me regarding the Cardone CV Axles would be appreciated. Also, if your opinion is to just change the boots, which one you recommend. Thanks! RUT

SDHQ OFFROAD, I have a 2011 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB with a 3" lift. Inner boot just opened up with 88k miles on it. Will your CV Boot Kit fit my truck with the 3" lift and perform well? Is your kit considered a "High Angle" CV Boot Kit. Or do you recommend another option?

Awesome. What type of grease is everyone running in theirs? Does it differ based on the axle and 2WD vs. 4WD?

These are not considered a "high angle" boot but are rather a thicker and more durable OEM replacement. They are constructed much like a CV you would find on a sand car or race buggy so the material has more give and lasts longer on lifted vehicles.

2wd trucks do not have CV axles. Our recommendation is OEM Toyota grease or something similar that you would use in high end CVs like Swepco Moly 101

They have done great. No issues at all, and I'm still running them hard.

Tubbsisland, I'd like to try these CV Boots out and buy a set. Looking on your SDHQ website, I came across 2 CV Boot direct replacement kits for my 2011 DCSB 4x4. Not sure which one is correct or which one you would recommend.

    upload_2017-2-14_14-35-9.jpg

Let me know and I will end up buying a set for the left and a set for the right. I will also need some grease to pack these things. Then you mentioned a discount for TW members. Do I just indicate that in the Coupon Code field?

The top ones are correct, not sure where the bottom ones came from but that pricing is from years ago and an older boot we were using. I'll try to find thos on the site and get them off. TW discounts are handled after the order is placed, simply put your username into the order notes and one of our staff will apply the discount for you during shipping since we shop rates to get you guys the cheapest possible shipping

I need boots for my 2nd gen. Both left and right inner CV boots, going to order the sdhq CV boot kit. Does the kit come with both left and right inner boot? Or would I need to order 2 CV boot kits?
