love the headers and Ypipe from UDR. No loss in bottom end power and great gains in the mid and top end. But this exhaust now sounds like shit. So I order these to fix that issue.

I know it has been mentioned by a couple members but I don't know if anyone has done this yet....Has anybody cut off the cats from the stock manifolds and had them welded to a set of the URD shorties?? I really do not want to go with the simulators and will probably run into problems come inspection time anyway so I just want to play it safe and keep my cats.

Also, I have the a URD Y-pipe on my truck. Would that then have to be "cut down" to accommodate to added length from the cats? Or am I thinking too much into this???

My bad, thats right. Your DT shorties. lol I couldn't remember who it was.....How could I forget your avitars!!! So when you do this, will you have to modify the y-pipe to accommodate for the length? I'm just now schooling myself on headers, I thought URD made shorties too. I getting the impression that the URD spec U headers are the way to go. Is it possible to weld the front cats on to these? Then back to my first question?? I was holding out hope for the AFE twisted steel headers with the high flow cats. A member bought the set that were for sale local here to me at a great deal which made me happy because I was hoping for a solid review........I think they lasted a month!!!...So I am coming to the realization that If want headers, I am going to have to do what your gonna do (someday :D) and weld on the front cats. I just want to know how it will all come together so to speak.

So short tube headers require you to weld new cats on, Long tube or equal length headers (not the same) delete the cats from the whole system. With short tube heads (any brand) you chop off your stock cats or find some replacement ones and weld them to the new short tube headers, it is a great idea to make a jib of your stock headers so you know exactly where everything sits and where its gonna bolt up at so you can chop in the perfect spot and weld up and everything will line up great. Then it's just an upgraded set of headers with stock cats. So if you've got 50k+ miles it would probably behoove you to get new cats in there.

Jig. And yes they should. You could eyeball it but it would probably be a bitch. Now that I say that though, a standard shop is probably just gonna eyeball it and get it in there, that's literally what they do for a living lol

Gotcha.....pretty much hand them the URD headers and tell them to cut off the cats from the manifolds and weld em up to the URD'S. ......just let them do their thing. Plus making sure they keep the bungs obviously.

Are these going to be 'simple' bolt on, or are we going to throw codes? Do we need to delete the cats?
