Just got my truck back. The ride height is almost identical. There was less than 1/8" difference.

I just had the spring recall done a couple weeks ago and the service guy mentioned they had just gotten in a "large" shipment of the recall kits. They seemed eager to do it too, they put mine on in a couple hours without even an "inspection" as my letter had stated. It was a fairly large volume dealership.

Can't recall the details exactly, but I think the spring safety recall was only for certain 05-10 models. Potential issue where a broken spring could contact and puncture the gas tank.

I got this done in 2013 on my 2011. It was worth it initially to get a free lift, renewed 'new vehicle feel' and better steering control on the highway. My regular TRD has maybe a 1/2" bro lean from back to front.

I can tell though that the springs are softening up. It's a shame they are stil using the 3+1 leaf pack on the new 2016 instead of something better.

I dropped mine off at Cabe Toyota in Long Beach thinking that they wee just going to "inspect" my vehicle to see if they need to replace te springs as I was told over the phone and they installed them that same day.

Here it is with the springs right after I got home.

And after a weekend road trip:

One thing about them is they creak every time I shift the weight of the vehicle with the gas or brake / or get out of the seat. I am pretty sure that it's they bushings that are creaking since the day they were installed. It doesn't sound like the squeaky leafs I had on my old packs, but more like it's coming from the bushings. Has anyone else had this problem? It's really loud and happens all the time with the slightest movement of the vehicle. They installed the wrong spiral cable on another recall so I have to go back on Sunday to get it replaced. Hopefully they can take care of the creaky leaf packs too. I read somewhere else that it could be if they didn't torque the bushing bolts while the truck was on its own weight.

I recently had my frame and leaf springs replaced, I feel as if my truck is making a lot more noises lately, could just be that I am paying more attention to things, drove from MA to NC and back just last week with no issues so I am not too worried. I chalk it up to the fact that my truck is 10 years old with 123k on the clock.

If anything is really concerning I would bring it back to the dealership and have then check it out if I were you.

Well my friend helped me find the source of the squeak - looks like the mechanic didn't pay attention to what he was doing.

    Passenger side looks good:

    Driver's side not so much:

Don't ask me how you could look at that and think that's how it's supposed to be - obviously the mechanic was indifferent or unknowledgeable about this install job or just did not g.a.f. Since I have to go back to have the correct spiral (airbag?) cable on the steering column from the other recall they didn't properly carry out, I'll have them flip that bolt around too.

Scary to think these guys are paid what they're getting paid to pull this kind of nonsense. I'd like to get paid as much as they do working on my truck and actually putting effort into it. That's life though. :) Guess I'm glad I'm learning how to work on my own vehicle. Nobody will give it the thought I do at a major mechanic shop I guess. It's fun to learn and saves money so I'm happy lol.

Sad part is I had my recall performed in 5 weeks. That was from initial inspection to installation. Honestly mine had no cracks or issues. A guy I know has his inspected months ago (4-5) and is still waiting on the springs. The Toyota dealership even removed two broken leafs on his that were turning. He has called them repeatedly and still nothing. Last week he checked his springs again and he has one leaf not broken or cracked on each side. He has borrowed a car from his father to drive until the recall is performed.

I told him I would make Toyota give him a rental until it is completed as I wouldn't think his truck is safe to drive now.

Wow that is some terrible wrenching. Looks like you have some nice scratches from that bold. Hope they properly seal the metal so it doesn't rust there.

Not only did the put the bolt in backwards, they were too lazy to replace the rubber shackle bushings as called out in the Technical Instruction.

Thank you for the heads up! I'd say something if I was keeping the rear suspension for long, but it's getting replaced soon so as long as they flip that bolt back the right way it'll be fine with me and it'll most likely be the last time they touch my truck. The customer service at this dealership is really great, but the techs are either rushed or inexperienced - they also left the moulding around my steering column unclipped after replacing the airbag cable that ended up being the wrong cable.

The great customer service and limited ability of the techs is like driving a really sweet sports car with an anemic engine and no handling - all show and no go. Oh well. The biggest concern to me is that they didn't even check their work - heck everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but to not check their work is not a mistake someone working on vehicles should be making.

    Can you post a pic?

I have the new TSB 4-leaf pack installed. I am not sure how my Toytec AAL is supposed to fit. It does not look like it will fit under the 4th leaf without hitting the rivets on the c-clamps. Does the Toytec AAL go between the 3rd and 4th leaf?

    Any help appreciated

Any AAL should go between the 3rd and 4th leaf. The 4the Leaf is the overload. Some installers may tell you to leave off the overload when putting an AAL but it should be ok leaving it on

Quick question. I know the PN for the 04005-34304 Leaf springs are 4821004650 and 4822004290.

What are the PNs for the 04005-34404 leaf springs for the Harsh Ride TSB 4 leaf spring trucks?

    My awesome Dealer:
Ordered recall springs. Told them the PN 34404 and to make sure they ordered the right one.
Called 4 weeks later to confirm the ordered PN.
When they came in stopped by to check the PN. Wrong springs. Reordered.
Called 4 weeks later to confirm the PN.
When they came in checked and they said they have the correct PN.
Made appt, had springs installed. Told Service Advisor 3 times to make sure of the PN. Put a sheet of paper in the truck with correct PN to install.
Got truck back. With wrong springs installed.
Sooo, gonna call back tomorrow and try again.........

Just got mine back from having the correct replacement spring set (04005-34404) put on my DCSB 05 Prerunner with the old TSB springs (which were great). The PNs are 48220-04300 (LH) and 48210-04660 (RH). I lost 1/2" of rake compared to the old ones, but hardly noticeable. Will see how they do when I get around to towing my camper. The PNs for the TSB springs were 48220-04210-D (LH) and 48210-04570-D (RH). I asked to get the old ones back but they refused, saying they wanted to make sure they were not re-used. Also impressed that the dealer used all the new parts in the install kit (04005-34104); u-bolts, nuts, spring seat, bumper, and shackle bushings.

Just checked mine after a few months and found 5 out of 8 u-bolts needed some torque.
