Question for anyone who might be in the 'know' about auto auctions and fleet vehicles.

I've looked at 3 2015 Toyota tacomas now and the 'autocheck' said that they were fleet vehicles and sold at an auto-auction with 5k miles on them. I did find out that a dealership can keep/have a new vehicle and use it as a 'demo' vehicle and still sell it as NEW if the miles are under 5k on it.

If that is the case why are the Tacoma's I'm seeing/finding were sold at an auto auction? One vehicle was from Greely CO (2015 TRD OffRoad) with 9k miles on it that was bought by the dealer via auto auction in Missouri. If the vehicle was a 'demo' vehicle I'm very surprised that the dealership wouldn't just sell it on their lot at a discount especially in Colorado where I would think the TRD OffRoad would be very desirable.

I've been wondering if the dealerships are just trying to 'unload' them because they had a problem but they still have a factory warranty with them.

This shouldn't be in the 3gen section

Where can I move it to or please delete if needed. I'm looking at 3rd Gen Tacomas and wondering why so many are being bought by dealers via an auto auction. *shrugs*

You said you looked at 3 2015's. Those are 2nd gen Taco's not 3rd gen.
