i have an 05 Tacoma doublecab and i have been trying to decide which speakers to buy.i think i have narrowed it down between image dynamics ctx65cs component speakers for the front and the image dynamic ctx65 coaxial's for the rear or the polk audio db6502 for the front and the polk audio db651s for the rear.any help would be appreciated.i do have an alpine 3542 amp i plan on using to power the front speakers and a alpine 3522 amp i won't to use to power the rear speakers.they are older amps that i have had in storage for several years and figured i might as well use them.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
    40wx2@4ohms amps?

    Factory or aftermarket headunit?

I have the Image Dynamics combo on 75wx4@4ohms, they sound great, wish i had a 100wx4 amp to push them fully but its plenty loud.

with those amps, find something closer matched to the power and youll save a bit of money. The ID set will be over kill on those amps.

do they make an alpine type s that will fit in the rear doors? i would like to stick with the same type speaker in the rear doors or does it make that much difference to mix and match speakers?

Check out hybrid audio. Some of the best sounding speakers I've heard.

I've had those and focal and the hybrid blow the focals out of the water with the correct tuning.

Mr.Marv currently has a group buy for 15% off going right now. Great buy.

I just put a pair of Alpine Type S components in the front....they sound great for what you can get them for. They make a 6.5 coaxial that will fit the rears.

If you can, grab a CD of something you're very familiar with and go audition some speakers. Like others have said, what sounds great to me might sound awful to you. I like tight bass and bright highs... Some don't.
