The I have insomnia and can't go to sleep thread

    Parents came down for the weekend and we gave them our room, wife and I slept on a futon. Worst nights sleep ever. I've woken up hung over hugging the toilet in more comfort. Lots of strong coffee these past mornings.

    16 years on 3rd shift and I find that diet and exercise help. I usually leave work around 8:30am, ride my mt.bike for 1.5 hrs or hit the gym for an hour. In bed before noon and sleep 2-3 hours, wake up & get stuff done, go back to bed at about 8pm and sleep until about 11pm & go to back work. I feel pretty good most of the time.

    K&n, flowmaster, plastidip, chipped, hids, daves
    Hydroxyzine, and diphenhydramine (benedryl), are 2 antihistamines used as sleep aids by doctors. Sometimes also used in a psych setting for agitation. I use benedryl myself, ambien has terrible effects on some people.
    People just need to remember, stuff like tylenol pm isnt needed to sleep unless they already have a need for pain relief. The acetaminophen in it is making the liver work harder than it needs to.
