Alot of times people (me included) use this site to vent or bitch about a bad experience or talk about problems with their trucks or the dealers, but we don't often hear to many positive things. I'm gonna take this time to give positive mention of my local Toyota Dealership, Toyota of Greenville in SC.

First of all, they have great sales reps. I went to one dealership and told him exactly what i wanted (down to the color) and exactly what i was willing to pay (down to the penny) and said i would not negotiate. I told the sales rep if he couldn't give me the truck i wanted for the price i gave him then just let me know, and i'll look around and wait until someone could. He spent 15 minutes just to give me a price 2500 more than i was willing to pay, then actually tried to convice me that if you looked at monthly payments it wasn't really that much more. When i told him i would not pay more than my original price he dissapeared for another 10 minutes and came back with an offer that was 3000 under my price, but was a completely different truck. I stared at him for a good 2 minutes before i asked if he was kidding, then he actually said this to me... "my time is valuble, i hope you're not taking up time i could be spending with someone willing to make a deal" At that point i put his card which he gave me back on his desk, stood up and walked out. While i was walking out he followed me trying to convince me to spend more money or buy i different truck. BTW, this is Toyota of Greer in SC. Just a heads up, don't buy there.

Anyway, the guy at Toyota of Greenville had an awesome sales style. He gave me the keys for the test drive by myself. When i got back we briefly talked numbers. I told him i wanted to look around and see if i could find any deals. He said that was cool, gave me his card and told me to have a good day. No bugging, no hasseling, no phone calls 2 months later (which all the other dealers did) Two weeks later i called him up and told him if he could hit a certain number i'd buy that night. He did and so i bought a truck.

Just took my truck in at 5000 miles to get my oil changed to full synthetic. I also brought attention to the turn signal cover that had popped off and is sliding around inside my front passenger side headlight assembly. I figured they would just open it up and pop the cover back on. But apparently it is a closed unit and they didnt want me to have problems later because they cracked it open, so they ordered me a new one, with no problems, no questions about how it popped off, and no irritated looks. The guy said i paid enough for this truck and its still under warranty so if anything goes wrong, not to touch it, just bring it in and they will fix it.

Also, when i called and asked about the synthetic they used, the tech guy said it would be alot cheaper if i brought my own in because the dealership charges something like $10 a quart. So he helped me save some green by telling me to bring my own oil.

Anyway, i'm very happy with the service my local Dealership. We don't hesitate to bitch when someone treats us wrong but we rarely sing the praises of someone that does their job right, so i'm taking to time to give them props.

That's good to hear :) Normally we tend to hear more of "My stealership tried to screw me" or they told me "I have to pay $xxxx dollars for this repair eventhough my truck is still under warranty!!!". I've had my truck since December and still haven't had to do the 1st service (just broke 3k mi). The dealer I purchased from is like 40miles away, so I need to find one a little more local. I do have a few choices. One of them I've heard nothing but bad things, and the other seems very pompous and arrogant. The wanted $600 for the OEM tube steps. I told them I can get them for $360 online and the parts guy said "Take them or leave them" Hopefully I'll have good luck you did ndcouch  .

Also, if anyone in upstate SC is looking to buy, Toyota of Easly is another good one. I almost bought from them. I played the dealerships back and forth for a while. I'd go to Easly with the Price Greenville gave to see if they would beat it, when they did i would go to Greenville and do the same thing. In the end Greeville beat Easly by $100 and when i went back to Easly with the price they said "sorry, they couldn't go any lower." So anyway, i liked the sales reps at Easly but i maxed them out on price. but i can't speak about customer service since i didnt buy from them. But if you're in the upstate and looking for toyota, i'd check out Toyota of Greenville or Easly... but for the sake of everything holy, stay away from Toyota of Greer!!!

    Another excellent dealership:

Sterling McCall Toyota in Houston, TX. I drove to the otherside of Houston from my house to get my truck. Unfortunately, due to the distance, I can't keep going back there for maintenance.

I gave them a glowing review in my intro thread in January...
