    Skiid both Jackson and targhee a bunch. Targhee is where it's at. Jackson is fun a few times a year but that's it. Always skiid out. Plus I blew up a knee there (Jackson) on an icy day by getting run into. My .02 for the day :)

    So pristine. Living in Wa State, I am so used to clear cutting, we never get to see places like this without some evidence of the scars the lumber industries leave on the forest. This spot was quite amazing.

    Snugtop cab high canopy.
    It's not that hard, I use Forest Service maps and GPS maps and check the FS website for road conditions. I'm in Lynnwood.

    Yeah, I've done similar in the past (actually, just did a bunch of Oregon this summer - Owyhee Canyonlands and Crater Lake) but seems like you could stack the odds of awesomeness (views, camps, passable roads, etc.) if you had a bit more inside info. Google and Bing maps have been reasonable for that, but each is incomplete/out of date.

    What web site do you use for FS road conditions? Did a few searches of the interwebs and didn't find anything great.

    Snugtop cab high canopy.
    This one http://www.fs.fed.us/. You can filter down to the forest you want. I assume the BLM has a similar website. I've also called the local ranger station for road and fire closure info.

    Yep, that's how we do it now :). Love it for the trips that don't have as much time pressure, and I totally agree that those found views/campsites are often the best because you have to go find them. Thanks again for posting pics from this trip. Definitely a general location on the bucket list now.
