LED headlight kit help!

I have bought a set of LED headlight bulbs from a local store here where I live not sure the brand but there's the bulb and behind the bulb is a fan and then there's the wire that runs to like a driver box or like a ballast for HID's for example but is that driver box suppose to get hot with the headlights are on? Cause mine gets pretty hot, hot enough you don't wanna keeping holding them in your hand for a long period of time. Thanks!

 

Just checked mine out. Mine are warm from a 15 min drive but not super hot like yours.

No fans on mine, just heat sinks. Straight plug and play.

Do the fans wire up stand alone?

 

No everything is just plug and play. I'm not sure how long I had them on I was just adjusting the headlights and went to unplug one side and just happened to grad it and noticed it was pretty hot

 

My heat sinks get pretty hot but not the igniter. Found that out from when I was adjusting them too.

My old HIDs used to get hot as hell. Probably the reason the failed prematurely.

I'll have to check them out after a longer drive

 

Unless it's a Philips H4 or another LED with the light shield, get those things out of your truck ASAP.
