    Hey all,

So I'm finally getting rid of these annoying 19's on my truck and getting back to an off-road setup. I've done a lot research learning about the sizes, offsets etc.. But before I spent $1000+ on wheels/tires I'd hope to get some feedback here.

    OEM Configuration:
    215/70/15 Tires
    15x6 steely with +40 Offset

What my Tacoma came with when I bought it used:
    255/50/19
    19x8.5?
Truck came with Falken Koblenz and unless I take it off and measure it, I'm assuming I have the 8.5 and not 9.5 giving me a +35 offset. http://www.ityre.com/en/disks/catalog/falken/5140/

    WHAT I WANT!
    American Racing - http://www.americanracing.com/wheel/20340/ar172-baja
    16x8 0 offset
    OR
    Mickey Thompson - https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/wheels.php?item=ClassicIII
    16x8 +21 Offset

    With BFGoodrich All-Terrains
    245/75/16

^This is the best combination I've come up with so far, originally I was looking at 15'' wheels but having a hard time finding an A/T tire to pair with it that I liked. Also a little confused that the American Racing in 16'' only come with a 0 offset whereas the 15'' comes with a 20mm offset.

Please give your input! Many thanks.

    - this website is for all things tire-size related.

You are missing a bit of data in your initial post. Is the truck sitting at stock height, or has it seen a lift/level kit?

Your current 255/50/19 rims should have a stamping or casting on the inside of the wheel hub that would indicate the wheel size. It'll be marked something like 19x8.5J

Going from your current 19" to 245/75R16 will increase your overall tire diameter from 29" to 30.5" This will have a negative impact upon your overall final-drive (3rd member differential) gearing. The solution is expensive for the auto transmission version, and super-expensive for the manual transmission.

It sounds to me like you are trying to go this route, done by "Scott572011" - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nsion-setup-thread.138807/page-2#post-2887011 :

0 offset, should bring your tire edge profile to just outside of your wheel-well fender skin - 5-10mm or so, by my eyeball estimate.

I went back to 15 from 16 and bought 15x8 +0 offset. Had 16x7 +42 . I didn't like how they tucked so far back in the fender. And the 15" are 100 bucks less each tire. The 15x31" bfg at ko2 is 160ish. The 16" 275/70/16 are 240ish so in the future my tire cost will be less and I have more rubber to help with the quality of ride. Here is a pic of new. Ya there white. I will paint to match truck . They only came in white with the +0 offset. Black is the old. Same style just have a nice lip.

Thanks and no I don't rub at all even with me sometimes going over stuff a little faster than I should with not all wheels on the ground. You just need to remove your black box and you'll be fine. I did need a spacer to clear my calipers but I'm still using the original lugs just acorn style nuts.

Mine are the first ones on the list... the needed back spacing is 4ish (I dont remember off hand) but a 1/4 spacer puts me in the right area.

    Hi all- I have a 2015 2wd 5 lug and currently running 235-70-16.
I want to change to 235-75-16 (change tire but keep current rim).
I believe that you said if 235-75-16 were installed that I would need to remove the black box. Could you clarify hat that means?
    Thanks for your help!

When you chose the wheel with zero offset was there any rubbing? Looking at doing a 16x8 with zero offset, on stock height. Wondering if it will be ok...
