You really should make your fenders load bearing. You'll be surprised just how often you found yourself standing on them. I find I'm climbing on mine at least once or twice each camping trip for various reasons. We don't even store anything on the roof of the teardrop. .....

I'm Building this thing to be tough all the way around so I'll be building the fenders nice and solid to where I can step onto them if need be

This sounded true until this part "One of them is really nice and told me I had nice biceps when I was wearing a tank top one day hahaha!" then I knew you were full of it.

Alright people! I know this has been a ridiculously boring build but I thought I'd fill you in on what's going on. After spending the time to get the trailer to the point it's at I have been working a ton and haven't had time to work on it. My daughter is getting bigger and bigger by the day and my last camping trip was a little rough on her with the roof top tent and her being sick and it being really cold out. I'm realizing that it would be really nice to have a warmer place to sleep at night and slightly more comfortable so what I'm going to do is sell this current trailer and buy a 5x10 enclosed cargo trailer like this

    IMG_1538.jpg
    IMG_1539.jpg

I'm gonna take this stock trailer and cut the suspension off and put new spring hardware and bigger longer leaf springs for a Jeep YJ on it. I'm gonna put the current wheels and tires from this trailer on to the new one. I'm gonna cut a couple windows and a vent in it and then deck out the inside with storage for gear, bed platform and a small camp kitchen. I've looked at some other builds and I'm hoping for it to turn out something like these.

    IMG_1528.jpg
    IMG_1530.jpg

It will end up being a little less capable for tougher terrain but it'll be great for comfort. If I wanna take solo trips I'll just have my RTT on my bedrack and go that way. For longer/family trips this is gonna be the best bet. I still wanna be able to get out in the sticks and BLM land which a travel trailer will not allow us to do so this will be the perfect platform for my situation
