I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra that I lifted way back when I bought it new. Only have 60k miles on truck, about 45k on the coilovers with pretty much easy miles.
Anyways, I read that they can be rebuilt and I contacted Icon through their web site 2 weeks ago and never got a reply back. They have a page you fill out and give your information on the equipment that you need worked on, you leave your email and phone #
Anybody know if they are still in business?
Here are photos of the issues, beings DR has long since when out of business would sure like to figure out how not to spend another $1200 for a new set.

    Thanks

Give Icon a call. I talked to them last week interested in rebuilding them myself. I spent about 1/2hr on the phone with them, they explained how to rebuild (there's also a few YouTube videos), different valving, and ordering parts.

    Thanks for your response..
Im glad that these can be rebuilt, Im really a little disappointed in all of these aftermarket parts.

I always joke that the only parts that are failing on my Tundra are the American made ones. Last year I had to replace the bushings on my Total chaos upper control arms because they were totally falling apart, (total chaos guys were helpful though) Local tire shop refused to align it and told me my entire front end was coming apart.
I also had to weld up those Sh*tty Tuff Country spindle extensions.. Talk about junk.. and Tuff country will not just sell them as replacement, they say you have to buy entire lift.. Wont be dealing with them again.
And now these so called great Donahoe Racing Coilovers are leaking oil. Kind of leaves me speechless on this high priced aftermarket stuff
Beings I wasn't the one that installed the coilovers I was just curious if they are difficult to pull out. Anything tricky about it. Like I said I just pulled the spindle extensions off and upper control arms off last year so Im not a total mechanic tard.

    Thanks again

Considering those are DRs, you got some good miles out of them. Things do wear out from time to time and maintenance needs done. American made stuff is still good. Tundra was built in the U.S. Since 1999. Remember where the Tacoma is built. Mine was built in Torrance, Ca. And now in Texas. Cannot get much more American than that. Tundras are built in San Antonio, Tx. I have around 100k on my DRs on my 05 Tacoma without a hitch. They are coming out soon for a rebuild via Icon. Good luck with your rebuild and maintenance.m

I thought they were assembled in America but parts made in Japan.
Anyways, these miles were easy miles, mostly driving to race tracks around California and Nevada pulling motorcycle trailers. Last few years I barely have driven it. Probably 1000 or so miles a year. Last year was the most I had drove it in years beings I had to take one of my Ducatis to the bay area for some special work (600 miles round trip) and that's when I had found out my front end was a wreck. I had just put on new tires and was worried about a pull I had to the right and didn't want them to wear out wrong especially after just paying $1800 for them.

This is my 3rd Toyota 4x4 that I had bought new and had a extra cab 4x4 Tacoma for ever sold and it with 160k miles and had hardly any issues. Only had a body lift on it no suspension work. Did replace a clutch on it, and a water pump. (I blame clutch being burnt up on a girlfriend that should only drive an automatic)

Ok, yeah, its been over a year and I am finally getting around to this. Had a bunch of issues all at once with the truck so decided it was time to address them all. Funny, I never drive the truck more than 2k a year and having only 62k miles on it you would think I would never have to do anything other than change the oil and maintain the battery.

Im taking the coilovers off and was just asking this before I throw down more money. Do I deed a spring compressor to get these off? I am taking the upper control arms off to try and figure out why I cant get any grease into the total chaos bushings and was hoping that it would lower the lower control arm down enough to release any tension on the coilover. I tried to adjust the coil over by turning the ( I don't know the term of it) but I will just call it a compression type device, the thing with the Alan screw with all the 3/8 inch holes in it that compresses the coil. Anyways that thing is stuck.

Going to try and take them both off and get them rebuilt. Will contact both places that were suggested above and hopefully be done with this truck for many years to come.

Ok, well that wasn't that hard. There was some tension so it may be a little more difficult to put back on but not a whole lot once I disconnected the upper control arm.

Now I need to decide of I should have both rebuilt. Anyone here have input? Only one was leaking. They have about 45k Freeway miles with some twisty roads, and very limited off road use.
Not sure if it makes a heck of a lot of difference having one rebuilt and leaving the other alone but would love to hear what anyone has to say before I send the one off.

    Thanks
