Some randomness about my new truck. I dont expect anything off the wall like my previous builds but had several requests for a new thread. So here we go...

2016 Ford F250 Super Duty XL
    6.7 diesel
    4x4

Yes... I went with the XL with the power options. Vinyl floors were something I really wanted and I can add the fancy electronics that I want cheaply and easily. Plus the price was right where I wanted it.

On the lot next to the f150

And put my tires on it:

I hear you on the vinyl floor, though. I opted for it on my new F150 because the carpet in my Tacoma spent all winter soaking wet, even with floor mats.

Finagled my old center console between the seats. Had to make some crazy brackets... down with the bench seats!
Also wired up my lights on the back and wired the aux switches to be hot all the time. Didnt want to keep my key in ACC for light.

I like Super Dutys, & I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
I also like that you started with an XL + power.

Stuck some stock fog lights on the truck, need to wire them up. Apparently the XL's ECU dosnt support them even though the wiring is there. Grabbed a stock switch with the fog control and ill just wire it up to a relay.

Fun weekend. Hauled a bunch of dirt, got the trailer stuck in the process. Buried the tires trying to get it out... unhooked and the beast crawled out with the maxtrax. Glad I had them... Had to get a friend to snatch strap me while hooked to the trailer to budge it. Had my camera set to time lapse so missed most of the pull... may have some on the dash cam though. Ill check that tonight

    Beautiful truck

I need a bigger truck for my next one. I have been looking at Tundra 8 feet bed, 5.7L 4wd Double cab. Cost would be about $32,000 after discount

What size is your Hd bed? Any thoughts on diesel vs gas? Mind if I ask what you paid ?

I am very intrigued with the base model 4 door HD. But every time I build one online with a dually it's almost $50,000

Can you get a bench front on HD?

I don't need fancy gadgets. Need an honest truck that can go 250,000 miles with cost effective maintenance and bulletproof reliability

    Appreciate your Input

    Thanks!

I ended up paying 42 for it. You can get the gasser much cheaper but I wanted the diesel for obvious reasons. I got the 6.5' short bed to keep it smaller, its very long and is interesting to maneuver in tight parking lots. Not a fan of the emissions crap on it but we shall see how that goes. The dually will run you a bunch more money... the SRW's will out tow a Tundra anyday so im not sure why you're comparing a dually to one?

1/2" plate and a receiver joined to a recovery point. Couldn't get a bar across because of a coolant line, and I didnt want a receiver poking out of the bottom plastic valance. See how it does when I finish the wiring. I have enough wire to reach the rear and possibly a trailer mounted reciever.
