East coast folks headed to Moab in 2017

Anyone seen this and considering going?

Would be cool to get some Florida folks involved.

I would love to do the trip, but there are so many factors, I dont want to put myself down and then bail out, plus having to start picking up spare parts for when you break something. lol but ill keep my eye out for this, I know some South Florida (miami) would go that would justify making some Florida MoAb shirts for sure

 

I'm in the Stuart area and I'm going. It would be awesome to get some more Florida people involved.

 

Do you plan on meeting up with other states on the east coast or heading out with florida people?
It woould be pretty cool meeting halfway somewhere and making the caravan bigger

 

I'm planning on meeting up with the Bama guys on the morning of the 4th to caravan out. I'll be driving up to Mobile on the 3rd.

 

that doesnt sound like a bad idea, it would be awesome to do some wheeling along the way but i know that would be more of a fantasy unless theres no time frame for a lot of people

 

I've considered leaving Moab a day early to start the jaunt back to Florida so I can hit the Alpine loop in Colorado.

 

Always add a day or two if you can for this trip. There's so much to see & never enough time. I'm hoping to go again in 2017.

 

How long is the drive from fl?

 

35 hours approx 2400 miles give or take the route you choose I 70 I 40 and another one i cant think off the top of my head... and which states you want to go through

 

I think the trip out is going to take us through North Texas and New Mexico.

 

Just looked at some basic route planning on my end. I will likely do the following:

5/3 Stuart - Tallahassee
5/4 Tallahassee - Birmingham (meet up with Bama crew)
5/5 Birmingham - Elk City, OK (Whole crew)
5/6 Elk City - Moab (Whole crew)

Wheel 5/7 - 5/10 and head to Colorado on the afternoon of the 10th and start the Alpine loop West-East and head home on the 12th - 13th.

 

If i had a rtt i would be down for this. Cheap af aside from gas

 

I've got these on my todo list one day.
Can't make it this time though!

 

I'd love to join you guys. My wife and I are expecting our first kid in February so I'm up in the air until maybe a month before or something. I'll go ahead and start planning as if I'm going though, just in case everything works out in my favor.

 

Damn man it's just too short notice. I'm in for 2018 though!
