Yeah some narrower so less surface on the road and lighter i would assume so again it should help a lil

I wouldnt get ur hopes way up. 10% would be the most extreme increase i would think to be reasonable. But every little off it helps. Now if u didnt mind "pizza cutters" u could do 255/80 17(even narrower and lighter but the same height); i run 255/85 16s and can manage a touch over 21, but im only lifted about 2" and i coast alot and drive very conservatively.

Are u adding any mileage for taller tires? I add 7.5% btw by the tire calc on here

I got a 2004 prerunner. Anything I can do to help out my MPG? I plan to throw on a flowmaster muffler later this month.

I have a 2" lift and I'm running stock wheels with a little bigger tire. Brigestone Dueler H/T's.

I've read through the thread and have some better ideas but it seems a lot of them are going to extreme lengths just to add a few mpg's.

Understood. I've heardconflicting things on it. Same with air filters and such.

In a pefect world 14.7 grams of air requires 1 gram of gas (about 14.0 of e10 which is what most gas is around here) the only way to burn less gas with engine adjustments is to put less air in. The only way other than that is to put less load on the motor, which may be slightly noticeable with a smoother intake and smoother exhaust i.e. headers and straight thru muffler. Im in the process of turboing my truck and right now im just running some 2.5" intercooler piping with a filter and i have a 2.5-3" reducer to my maf flange adapter then into my throttle body. I have noticed a slight decrease in the load and at idle about 20% less gph due to smaller intake piping.

A scan gauge or the torque app will help u see where u are wasting fuel

I installed a K&N cold air intake on my 2005 Tacoma and was pleased with this increased performance. Can't really tell if there was improved gas mileage but just looking at the difference between the very restricted factory air flow compared to the clear, unobstructed air flow of the new K&N 4" tube it was an improvement in performance (for about $170). It is a bit louder when accelerating hard but some may even like that :)

For the first 10,000 miles my 2016 tacoma trd off road got 18.7 combined mpg. This was checked closely for the entire 10,000 miles.
After my factory oil change and vehicle inspection the dealer seems to have done something to my truck. It seems to have more power and gets over 22 mpg combined for two tanks of gas.
It may have just got broke in, I do not know but I like it much better. Will keep posting milage as it gets more miles on the truck.
    Hang in there.

I bought an aluminum shell, that is very, very light and sturdy enough to keep people out of it. Mine is 2.7L 4x4 access cab manual (2005). I'm running 265/70/16 BFGs at 32PSI and getting 22MPG average, probably 24 in the summer on trips.

Man I just bought a 09 DCLB with 265/70/17s, roof rack, and a side mount tool box and I got only 14mpg driving all freeway for multiple tanks. Tire PSI was good. Filters were clean. I gotta check the spark plugs and change all the fluids. I didn't buy this truck for the MPGs, but seeing other peoples numbers makes me scratch my head. X-Runner got up to 22 on the highway. I know the rack, tool box, and tires make a difference but shit I wouldn't think by that much. Steady between 65-75 (depending on speed limit) on cruise control.

on the top end there is, but you won't notice anything. 5-10hp does nothing, won't move the truck.
