His exact thoughts are why I ultimately sold my 15' tundra. From the side it looked great, from the front it looked like it was dragging excess metal not to mention knowing the cross member had been cut out. Sadly it never saw dirt, so in the long run it didn't matter. Still bothered me though. My buddies and guys at work still don't understand what I didn't like about it.

I myself have been reading like crazy on all these suspension threads. Currently my ORDC is a pavement princess. That may or may not change. I'm not as brave to trespass in my late 30's as I was in my teenage years, and well these trucks cost more than my trucks of yesterday did.

I am fighting the urge to do a spacer lift knowing it will be fine but we never know what the future has in store for us. I'm thinking OME lift just to make it look different than every other Tacoma around here. Want larger tires as well, but worry with the at tranny that it will kill performance.

Tough decision. Can get expensive quick.

I vote NO on the 4" lift but thats just me. Im also a fan of more tire less wheel look though and wished i wouldn't have even gone with 17" wheels, if i did it all over id go back down to 16" wheels with 305 tires

Just spoke to the owner of the shop about this (they are very reputable business installing lifts for 20+ years) and he told me that he installs around 30 BDS kits a year alone and never heard a single person make the complaints I read in the posted link. He also said the shop that installed that persons could have done a poor job and hence the issues. He said he installs many types of lifts and would never recommend BDS if they had issues as I described to him. It's American made, lifetime warranty, and they last forever. I'm so torn what to do now lol. I want a quality lift and a comfortable ride!

to be honest the 4" BDS kit might be fine but could open up a world of problems for drive line issues. Plus its utilizing a spacer for the lift which will ride much stiffer than if you were to go with a traditional 3" lift kit using coils for the lift. For a smoother ride and to be able to go completely back to OEM - STOCK if need be id stick with a traditional 3" coilover kit

on our trucks for ride quality any of the 3" kits will ride smoother to be honest. OME usually tends to ride a bit stiffer but will ride better than the spacer lift on the BDS kit. No matter if you went with a 5100 coilover kit, an OME coilover kit using the stock coils, or a toytec BOSS kit they will probably all ride better than the BDS 4" kit, this is just my opinion. Why not just go the full 6" lift instead? 4" just seems in the middle so if you really want the high lift go 6" or just save yourself the hassle and do what has been tested a thousand times here on TW with the traditional 3" coilover kits. Not trying to sound like a jerk, hope it doesn't come off that way, just trying to shoot it to you straight.

Not taking it the wrong way at all! I appreciate the feedback! What's a 3" coilover kit? Sorry, but I'm clueless lol.

This would be a 3" coilover kit from toytec lifts the BOSS 2.0 kit for the 2016 Tacoma, much easier and quicker install as well.

for the type of money that the BDS 4" kit comes out at you could probably get into a ICON kit for that price point. Id say ICON or KING makes some of the best kits on the market but depends on your budget honestly.

Called Toytec and they were only claiming 2" with the boss 2.0.

    Anyone confirm?

Toytec Boss lift with rear add a leaf
After reading and talking to toytec- that kit is 0-2" lift up front and 2" in the rear.
