After washing engine compartment on the 2002 Toyota Tacoma V-6 engine ran rough an idle was shaky, check engine light came on but still ran descent on the highway. Did i get water in a place i shouldn't have didn't use a lot of water just enough to get de-greaser off, only splashed engine with water while cleaning compartment. After i cleaned it took it for a ride it was perfect next morning is when i found that it would not idle right an misfire an check engine light came on.

Have the code read for the MIL somewhere and report what the specific code number is. More than likely water got somewhere and will need to evaporate. But let us know the code that you pull when having the MIL read. We'll be able to give you better advice.

So it's running right? Or it's not? Sorry, just trying to see if I can try and help. If you're running right now, that's awesome. I'm sure you'll grow fond of your tacoma. They're not perfect, but they are well built and well designed in the most important areas.

    Pretty much stock right now
I got water under a coil pack boot once, and that caused all those same problems. Dried it out and it was fine.

Keep an eye on your frame for any signs of rust. You may want to take some preventative measures or check your warranty status with a knowledgeable dealer.
