Do it, makes the daily commute that much more fun :D

though maintenance-wise, costs go up. I've had a few issues with this truck since I got it and they've all been related to the blower (running lean, bad spark knock, extra torque made the clutch throwout bearing go bad...probably forgetting something).

Most of it was fixed by just doing basic upgrades that the previous owner never did, i.e. colder spark plugs and a strong clutch, but still...there's much more to the cost of going boosted than the booster itself. I dread the day I have to ship it off to get rebuilt. That's going to suck.

Damn knock on wood. I just replaced my S/C oil in the nose cone with the GM 12345982 oil. Immediately noticed idle was quieter. Driving seems improved, but no data to back that up. What spark plugs are you running to get your knock? I just ordered Ik22s and NGK wiring to replace next weekend. I assume you run 91 octane in CA?

I eventually learned that the previous owner never put in colder spark plugs, which is a necessity for a boosted 3.4l. I was running the stock copper plugs and the motor would ping like crazy from time to time under heavy acceleration. I got some Denso iridium plugs (ik22) and it almost entirely solved the issue, I think the minor pinging I'm still getting on occasion is because I need to get the 7th injector eventually. But that's another $1k I just don't feel like spending right now, lol.

Yep, always run 91 octane and occasionally throw in an octane booster from time to time

And yeah, if you have the manual trans with the OEM Toyota (Aisin?) clutch in it, you have to be careful with the skinny pedal. It wasn't designed for the added HP and torque that the supercharger produces and can cause issues. URD sells the Competition Clutch which has been recommended on here. I had a nightmare experience getting that installed by a shop but that's a whole 'nother story...

Yep colder plugs and higher octane fuel is definitely a good idea . My 4 cyl already came with upgraded " pink injectors" so I've got adequate fuel flow and have tried the 8lbs pulley with awesome results
