The plan is to explore some of the more "off the beaten path" cemeteries in Berkshire county (there are more than you may realize). Preference going to those plots with more "creep factor", as we will be touring at a date close to All Hallows' Eve. :D

Added stops may include some Berkshire hot spots (Mt. Greylock, Houghton Mansion, Hoosac Tunnel, Tannery Falls, Deerfield river, etc). Time dependent.

We will be stopping for lunch at a Berkshire institution. Good food, good beer.

The off road driving will be mainly dirt/gravel roads, some maintained/some not.
    * It is possible to drive all of the planned roads with a stock truck.
    * Recovery gear is not necessary, but it wouldn't hurt to have. There will be people coming that have equipment, if needed.
    * Be sure your spare is in good shape.

Please let me know if you have any ideas to add.
    Thanks
    DrF

    October 29th
    9:00am start
    Big Y parking lot
    Lee, MA

We will head east on 102 to
    Beartown State Forest
to check out an old C.C.C. camp.
There is a cemetery in the forest somewhere, but the only thing I found a few weeks ago was a stone wall but no headstones.

From Beartown we will head through Lee
and into the October Mountain State Forest
where we will go to a small cemetery that is sometimes visited by
Anna Pease whom died on January 22, 1829

To head out of Oct. Mtn. there are two options
    1. rugged, 2. less rugged :D

From Oct. Mtn. we will head out toward Dalton
driving on as many unpaved roads as possible.

Next area we will be stopping at is a little bonus to the trip.
I had only planned to pass through the Windsor State Forest to get to the Savoy State Forest but found some cool and weird things last weekend.
(Windsor Jambs, Camp Windigo, Bush cemetery)

Out of the Windsor s.f. to route 116 and in to the Savoy State Forest.
There are 2 cemeteries here that are worth checking out.
One is the resting place of quite a few revolutionary vets and the other is the burial place of a supposed witch. More info on this cemetery to come soon.....

From these cemeteries we will head out and around to the other side of the same state forest where, time/weather dependent, we will check out a couple other areas.

From the Savoy s.f. we will travel on route 2 to the Hoosac Tunnel which is located next to the Deerfield river.

From the tunnel we will head to Mt. Greylock (weather/time dependent) for an "up and over"/photo op. (Mt. Greylock is the highest point in MA).

We will head down from the "hill" for good food and drink with friends @ The Olde Forge.

*Check back.....I will update this post with more info soon. :anonymous:

Just thinking that if people have truck shit to trade/get rid of/sell, this may be a good time to do that too.
I can use one of those reserved posts for a list, if needed.
