364. Raiding tomorrow night!

 

Attempting World's First Wrath of the Machine tomorrow. Got 2 characters to 375-ish, Titan and Warlock. Probably end up maining the Warlock for the raid since self res since it came in clutch quite a few times with the World's First King's Fall attempt.

 

Never cared anything about being world first. Seemed to take the fun out of it to me. I just wanted to do it it and not have any help. Which is why we go in blind but without a timeframe.

 

Twilight Garrison, worth the strange coin purchase?

 

Helpful in PvP no doubt. But I personally wouldn't buy one. I'd wait for a drop.

Thats what I did when I skipped the Bad Juju, hot it a few days later on a drop. Ended up not liking it and disassembled it.

 

Buuuut... Im yet to drop any exotic armor exept the NBP and Saint14, but I already had bought them from Xur before they dropped. Here is my chance to get something good for IB

 

I bought the new Exotic WL boots because... well... WL's have never had any boots before. Weird perks but the auto loading ammo perk seems pretty cool.

Jumped into the Raid for a bit just for fun with some random members of our group. Made it in the door and got the 1st boss down to 1/4 health but it started glitching really bad. Glitched so bad once that after I ran out the door of one of the rooms you hide in I had no weapon in my hand and I couldn't do anything but melee and throw bombs at the boss. Had to die and come back before my gun would come back.

Our actual raid is tonight at 6:45 so we'll see how far we get. I like the mechanics of the door sequence and (so far) the jumping puzzle hasn't been bad. The first boss is pretty damn cool but I've no idea how someone could dream up a fight like that lol.

Lol... For those that said you were looking forward to the raid because it would be easier than TTK.... lol. It's a fucking blast but it isn't any easier. If you think you'll be doing HM anytime soon with less than 6 up, probably not going to happen. If you were frustrated with TTK and having to rely on others, you're absolutely going to hate this.

That said, Bungie's raid designers did an amazing job with the mechanics on this raid. Getting in the door is pretty straightforward and reminds me of VoG and TTK combined but it is there to teach you (like the other raids) what you can expect once you get in. Normal Mode is just there to teach you the mechanics of the raid and get you ready for Hard Mode. And looking at it from a HM perspective, light level aside, the mechanics of the raid cuts you very little slack. And once HM hits it will be even less slack and more things to do without dying. It doesn't matter if you are level 400 or not, if you mess up just a little or don't get the timing right, it's pretty much over on HM. If you get caught outside the door in Vosik’s fight 2nd you will die. If you don't have enough people up on the Siege Engine to cycle through carrying all the equipment and doing damage in the right amount of time and clearing mines... it's over. Speaking of the Siege Engine, bravo for whoever came up with that design. They did an amazing job. Never played a fight like that before.

The grind is real in this expansion though. Really the only way to get to 385 (right now) is by doing the raid (unless you stockpiled a ungodly amount of exotics). Trials is supposed to drop raid level gear but we'll have to wait and see. Blues don't decrypt higher than 365 and as far as I know blues don't decrypt higher than 340. You might get random blue drops after a strike that you don't have to decrypt that are higher but decrypting blues stop decrypting any higher than 340 once you hit 350. Decrypting exotic drops, leveling your factions, and collecting blue items during the strike playlist is the only way to get any higher than 365.
That's fine with me since they have pretty much gone back to the only way to get max armor / weapons is by doing end game content. Much like it was during the VoG days. The only way to get to 30 was by doing VoG. Otherwise you were stuck at 29.

All that said, I highly recommend the raid. It's a fucking blast. If your friends list is not that big then get on the100.io and make some friends. You're going to need them.

 

We went in blind last night and beat it in about 6 hours. 3 LL 375 2 365 and 1 354. Not hard to figure out and only real challenge is last boss fight. It's a fun raid, loot is ok, gear is ugly and I hate you have to have keys for chests to get good drops. Hope they get rid of the explosion of green engrams as well.

 

Lol... I agree with all your points. The greens are okay for gaining weapon parts and armor material when patrolling but they suck in the raid. All they do is clog up your inventory. And yes, the gear is REALLY ugly. The only good looking raid gear was the VoG stuff IMO. After that all the raid gear looks have sucked. I just infused the raid gear into what I'm wearing now. I really do like the look of the weapons and I'm glad they went back to a traditional style for the weapons instead of some bullshit with bones and hair hanging off of them.

 

World's First went well. Clan overall got 6th, and then 3 of them decided to go do this....

 

Awesome job! Were those the same guys that duo'd the VoG?

 

sc Slayerage was one part to the duo. sc Furball has a life outside Destiny so he's rarely on.

 

There is an old Omnigul farm trick that is dropping decrypted blues up to 365 right now. Im sure it will be patched soon.
