Not sure y'all can see it here. But a Black truck in south Alabama is horrible to try to clean during love bug season. Y'all have any tips how to get the residual bug stuff off? I have washed there area 4 times today with all sorts of gentle scrubbing. You can still see where the bugs were

Down near bottom of picture where the front grille surround meets the rubber trim piece you can see 2 blurry looking streaks. Those are the left over bug stains.

Start breeding and releasing bats in your area? Swallows also eat bugs.

Yup, that bug and tar remover works great. Takes them off much easier than anything else I've tried.

I used to spray the whole front with Pam. Cleaning was easy as nothing will stick. But that was year ago.

one thing with this stuff if you plan to wash the whole truck its good to use the bug stuff first scrubb them off use a 2 bucket system or dump out the bug bucket start fresh for the rest of the truck, somehow it screws up the soap mix

Unfortunately they don't eat love bugs. The chemical makeup of the juices in lovebugs is more acidic than most bugs, deterring birds from eating them. This same acid us what causes the etching in your clearcoat if they stay on there for an extended period of time.

I have seen a few pilots that use lemon pledge on the leading edges of their planes after each flight and claim that the bugs come off much easier.

This is also a trick with guys and there UTVS and ATVS. They'll spray all the plastics with pledge so everything just rinses away the next time they wash. Anyone ever try it on a clearcoat?

I have read it doesn't harm the clear coat. I don't think it would be that beneficial for everyday driving since it would have to be applied quite often, but might be a good idea to prep for a long road trip or before a night drive. Also, car show guys use it to give their car that extra pop/shine for a show.

I clean off love bugs with their arch nemesis: hatearade.

Turtle Bug & Tar remover also works.

My standby for motorcycle plexiglass windshields was always to drape with a towel soaked in hot soapy water for a few minutes before cleaning.

Love bugs have been bad down here recently too. I spend $20 at the suds car wash for the managers special. Comes with debugger juice and a polish.

When I lived in Florida, the love bugs were awful! I used to do the Pam trick as well, and simple green always seemed to work well getting them off. Do it quickly, though since they will literally eat through the paint!

Just took a trip an hour north to go the coldwater springs down here in Florida. By the time I made it home I couldn't see s damn thing nor my hoods paint color for that matter. Elbow grease for sure occasionally will break out the clay bar for the real stubborn guys. Just make sure to wax if you clay bar.
