    Morning all:
Yup, that time of the year Mark. I notice that all my oak trees have brown leaves on them and other leaves are starting to slowly accumulate in the yard.
Soon time to put the snow tires on the Tacoma!

Evening All. Glad the eye is getting better Sue.
Yes they are Gary:amen:. When I see the green on the ground I know it's another day I won't be looking up at brown. :D

Mark and Carl, any word on whether it's going to be a wet snowy winter or not?

I am hearing cold and more snow than last year - for us, getting a total of 12 inches would probably exceed what we got all of last winter.

I'm hearing the same here, supposed to be a cold one, maybe will get more ice fishing time this year!

My buddy has some palm trees around his pool, when the fronds fall off he just sticks them back in. ;)

Dang, I'm here sitting on the porch alone again. Where is everybody? Getting ready for winter?

Look's like we're in for another wet weekend as the remnants of another hurricane will be bringing us more rain. Concerned about Maui, as they got hit hard with flooding last week, and the ground is already very saturated. Right now it's coming down at a rate of an inch an hour over some parts of the island. Knocking on wood, as where I live, is usually very wet, but have escaped any major rain this season. I'm fortunate that my lot is sloped, so any water drains right out. I'm also concerned that golf may get rained out tomorrow...

    Have a great weekend all!

We are having what will probably be the last day of 80+ degree weather until next year. Took advantage of it to take one last swim in the pool - scheduled to have it closed up next week. Sad. Weekend looks to be nice - just cooler in the high 60s and low 70s. Time to cut the grass and also prep the snow plow.

Hi all:wave:. Still on vacation enjoying the nice warm weather. Probably won't be so nice temperature wise when we get home from what Mark is saying. We had one afternoon of heavy rain and high winds that knocked out power for about 4 hours but other than that weathers been good and the diving good as well. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Saturday!! Looking forward to a nice weekend weather-wise. Time to cut grass and catch up on a bunch of small projects to get ready for winter. I hate having to put the outside furniture into storage - sign of things to come involving cold weather and snow. But, it's all part of being here in the northeast.

2 weeks into the heal of the new tattoo - scheduled for some touch up in a few weeks but in the meantime I can now get fully into the spa - been hanging my right arm over the side for the last two weeks. :)

Safe travels to anyone on the road and I hope your eye is better, Sue!

    Morning all:
Time to cut grass and do a major trim here also. Trying to get the boat together, just received a MinnKota deckhand 40 anchor winch that I need to fabricate mounting plates for to be able to mount it properly on the bow of the boat and then need to wire it up. I also then need to move the bow light off to the side because the winch will go right over the top of where it is at now. The other boat has EVERYTHING on it, totally set up for the river and I was going to put the jet on that one, then changed my mind!!!
Archery opens next Sat. also! :goingcrazy:
And I still need to mount the jet on the boat!!!!!!!!! :goingcrazy::goingcrazy:
Somehow I will manage to get this stuff done in time, I HOPE! :D

How's the eye Sue, should be all debugged by now!

GRRRRR! :annoyed: Just went outside and saw my buddy was here again.
I had fed the outside cat earlier, all OK, since then the bear knocked over the garbage can and made off with the plastic kitty litter container that I had the cat food in, heck I even provided a handle for it to carry it away. Went out and looked around, no sign of it, think I need to get a bear lic., I may get a gift!
Guess it's time not to keep any of the cat food outside, first raccoons now bears. First time in 30 yrs. that a bear has caused problems, keep thinking about what Charlie said about how they became a nuisance where he lived, we are seeing the same thing here now.

    :jellydance: enjoy it!!!!

eye is all better Mark. Thanks. Didn't get a thing done outside today :anonymous: Visited the son for a couple of hours (two and a half hours away) so, drove there and back and went grocery shopping and I was whooped, so no yard work or dump run. HAVE to do the dump run tomorrow!!! Hope you got all your stuff done, mark.

    always something to do!!

Eye is all better, thanks. All de-bugged :D

Keep as little around outside as you can. Can't fault the bears, since folks keep building houses in their backyard....

Hi all, got back this AM from my trip that started on the 4th after my yard sale. Almost 4800 miles, NV, ID, MT, ND, MN, IA, NE, CO, WY, UT back thru NV to Kalifornia. Worst traffic was in Missoula, MT and the Greeley, CO areas. Visited all my aunts and uncles on my late moms side, saw a couple cousins too. Did a overnight backpack trip with a fellow stovie in MT, ate lots of huckleberries there. On to Glacier NP in MT after that trip, snowed out on the Sunday start date, tried again on Monday at a different trailhead, almost bailed again, but the weather got much better. Snow and cold wind the first try on Sunday. Saw no grizzlies, but saw some sheep, goats, fishing was near non-existant due to wind or shallow water at the wrong part of a lake. :( Went fishing with a uncle at my cousins place in CO, he caught a nice small mouth bass, I caught one sunny. In Glacier, a guy in the parking lot at the trailhead on Sunday, spotted a grizz with his spotting scope catch a goat and eat it. Cool. While in MN, a uncle took me to the Toyota dealer to get my 10,000 mile service done, while it was there, we went to a super large dairy and also went by a cousin and her husbands turkey farm. They had to destroy their entire flock a few years ago due to the bird flu, they were a day away from shipping all birds. They even had to kill the barn that was not infected. :(
A stovie in ID gave me a rare, unused Optimus 111C stove. I told him I already had a good user, but he insisted I take it. I got to see the Snake River up close just before visiting him and his family.

Thank you. Temps for my backpacking trip started at around 23F in the mornings, then finally up to 30F the last morning I think, failed to check temps the last morning. Had gotten up in partial darkness and on the trail a little after 7. Nine miles to the truck, ETA was around 4.5 hours, made it under 4 hours. No breaks except to catch my breath only a few times. Get outta my way. :)
Forgot, the first morning hiking into Glacier on Monday, I heard Elk, super cool, maybe a wolf another AM, as one other person heard it too, not a long, drawn out bugle though. I did see a black bear, at least the north end of a south bound butt on the next to last day.

Impressive schedule Duane, us guys who have been retired awhile (10 years) are learning to pace ourselves and smell the roses so to speak .

Just kidding, I admire your stamina.

Thank you. A good thing I realized after two weeks into the trip, I was never home sick. But, once lined out to go home, move over, here I come. :) I still had cash in my wallet when I got home, a good thing, just have not added up my credit card purchases for gas and eating out. :(
