Went in for the Leaf Recall today. They said they wouldn't install my old AAL which is fine. Well when I was driving home I noticed that my truck would drive straight but my steering wheel was at the 3-4 o'clock position so I took it back to the deal and said WTF??? Service manager claimed that it was because of the rear AAL not being installed and my alignment specs were off. I was thinking BS the whole time. I said okay well I'll install my AALs and come back if I have issues.

Well it turns out after further investigating that the passenger side leaf pack had some how shifted aft. My rear tire is 1/2 from the rear fender

So now what? Do I have them tow my truck to the dealer or drive it in? The Ubolts are leaning hard to the front. I'm sure my rear axle is obviously not driving straight as well which is causing stress to the u bolts.

So, the leaf pack is sitting on top and forward of the allignment pin?
Or did they not install an allignment pin?

:facepalm::facepalm:All my tools are at work or else I'd do it myself. I know it's an easy quick fix. I also have cast iron lifting blocks so it must have slipped off some how.

I don't think the tech lined up the block and leaf pin.

Can't fix it myself. These leafs sag a ton after they're on jack stands. They installed the drivers side block backwards as well. Fat side is in the front not the rear. This dude mast have been drunk when he completed my recall.

simple solution... take it back, tow it if ya must.
I'm sure it will be towed/corrected on their dime.

Any time the rear leafs springs are altered or are changed
that will affect the front end alignment specs.

And so an alignment should be in order
and recommended by any Lf spring installer.

If it is a recall Lf spring notification/install...
the installer should pony up for an alignment.

Take it back and make demand that they fix it.
But realize your damages do not warrant any hostility.
    Just correction.

If they deny correction... then a little hostility is OK !? Lol

People make mistakes, but it could have been handled better. I'd be quite upset with how your initial complaint was handled.

So I got a phone call today and they said everything was fixed and ready to be picked up. Got to the dealership and they never even touched my passenger side.... All they did was flip around my driver side block. I was pretty freakin heated. I grabbed both the service tech and the manager that I was working with and pointed it out. They were both pretty embarresed. Tech felt super bad. Always check people work.

I am a handyman / technician myself and it irritates me to see half ass repairs. Sometimes it's not that hard to do it right...I'm not saying they're dumb but definitely needs a bit more training

Even then the recall does call for an alignment after the springs are replaced if I remember correctly.

Funny you mentioned that. I got adjustable swing arms for my Turbocharged Nissan 240sx, because I needed to correct alignment after dropping it 1.6 inch. Blagg goodyear did the alignment and I took it on the highway, it veered side to side really bad, like a loose wheel. I took it back and they left my adjustable swing arms loose. Yeah, I was irate, got my money back and got it done somewhere else. I coulda spun out on the hwy it was wobbling so bad.
