Anyone changed a alternator on a 2nd gen v6? Just wondering how aggravating it is.

pretty close quarters in there, but not too bad.

make sure you have a guide or diagram of the serpentine routing b/c there wasnt one under the hood or in the owners manual.

Thanks. The close quarters is what I'm most concerned about. Don't know why the have to make it that way. The wife's Tahoe has it sitting right there on top, easy as hell to get too.

Yep, close but not a terrible job. I helped work on @Dragons Taco during a wheeling trip, with the engine hot. Luckily he didn't have to replace it, just needed a little cleaning out. He was happy like a pig in mudholes, literally jumping through mud holes :)

Is there a accurate diagram of the belt placement anywhere. I picked a new belt up as well, mine is showing a little wear, figured I change it while I'm in there. Funday Sunday.

i bought a haynes manual to keep around the house and it was int here.

i had to change mine after getting caked in mud at URE, then replace it again when the voltage regulator in the "new" one went out.

Thanks. I'll go in the morning and pick one up, if my local parts store has one in stock.

That's not too bad. But I just checked my local advance and they got a Haynes book in stock. Them damn thing are pricey, but worth it I guess, since I like saving money on labor, at least when it comes to shit I know I'm capable of doing.

She has been doing heart. She recently did heart surgery on a mouse... and it lived.

I did but for some reason I woke up during the outage. A little warm but I got back to sleep.
